Tripura Public Service Commission (TPSC) has issued Advertisement No. 03/2026 for Junior Engineer, Grade-I and Grade-II, Electrical Engineering posts. This recruitment is through the Combined Competitive Examination Rules, 2022 for engineering posts under the Government of Tripura. The key point is that the original online deadline of 12 June 2026 has now been extended to 15 June 2026.

This listing covers both Grade-I and Grade-II posts because the same advertisement and extension notice cover both active posts. Degree holders should check the Grade-I post, while diploma holders should check the Grade-II post. You should apply through the TPSC online portal only, and hard copy applications are not accepted.

Vacancy Details

Who Can Apply?

For Junior Engineer Grade-I Electrical

• Qualification: You need a Degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognised university or institution.
• Post group: This is a Group-B Gazetted post equivalent to Tripura Engineering Service Grade-V(A).

For Junior Engineer Grade-II Electrical

• Qualification: You need a Diploma in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent academic qualification from a recognised university or institution.
• Post group: This is a Group-C Non-Gazetted post equivalent to Tripura Engineering Service Grade-V(B).

Other Requirements

• Tripura residence: You need a Permanent Resident Certificate of Tripura (PRTC) while applying.
• Language knowledge: Knowledge of Bengali or Kokborok is desirable for both posts.
• Qualification date: You must have the required qualification and other conditions by the closing date mentioned in the advertisement.

Age Limit

• You should be between 18 and 40 years old as on 12 June 2026 for the Grade-I post.
• For Grade-II, the maximum age is 40 years as on 12 June 2026.
• Age relaxation: ST, SC, PH candidates and Government servants get 5 years relaxation as per the advertisement.
• Important note: Government servants belonging to ST, SC or PH categories do not get an extra relaxation over and above the general 5-year relaxation.

Salary

• Junior Engineer Grade-I Electrical: Pay of Rs. 47,600 per month, Cell-1 of the applicable Tripura Pay Matrix level, plus admissible allowances.
• Junior Engineer Grade-II Electrical: Pay of Rs. 34,700 per month, Cell-1 of Level-10 under Tripura Pay Matrix 2018, plus admissible allowances.
• Allowances: Selected candidates will get other admissible allowances as per Government of Tripura rules.
• Revision note: The pay levels are subject to revision by the Government from time to time.

Application Fee

• Group-B Gazetted Grade-I: General candidates need to pay Rs. 350.
• Group-B Gazetted Grade-I concession: ST, SC, BPL card holders and Physically Handicapped candidates need to pay Rs. 250.
• Group-C Non-Gazetted Grade-II: General candidates need to pay Rs. 200.
• Group-C Non-Gazetted Grade-II concession: ST, SC, BPL card holders and Physically Handicapped candidates need to pay Rs. 150.
• Refund rule: The recruitment fee is non-refundable.

Selection Process

TPSC will select candidates through a three-stage competitive process. The Preliminary Examination is only a screening test, while final merit is based on the Main written exam and Interview-cum-Personality Test.

1. Preliminary Examination: Objective MCQ paper for 100 marks and 2 hours. It is used to shortlist candidates for the Main Examination.
2. Main Written Examination: Written papers for 500 marks. You need to score the minimum cut-off to move to the interview stage.
3. Interview-cum-Personality Test: Interview for 50 marks. TPSC checks personal qualities, judgement, current affairs awareness, leadership and suitability for service.
4. Document Verification: Successful candidates must submit self-attested documents when TPSC asks after the Preliminary result.

Qualifying marks are 40% for UR and 30% for reserved category candidates in the relevant stages. For the Main Examination, candidates are called in the ratio of up to 1:5 of notified vacancies, strictly in merit order.

How to Apply

1. Go to the TPSC online portal through tpsc.tripura.gov.in or tpsc.onlinetripura.in.
2. Complete One Time Profile Registration (OTPR) if you have not registered earlier.
3. Use your OTPR User ID to choose Junior Engineer Grade-I Electrical or Junior Engineer Grade-II Electrical.
4. Fill in the online application form carefully and choose the correct post.
5. Pay the required recruitment fee online based on your post and category.
6. Submit the form before 15 June 2026, 5:30 PM.
7. Use the correction window carefully after the application window closes, if you need to fix any submitted details.

Do not send a hard copy application to TPSC unless the Commission asks for documents at a later stage. After the Preliminary result, successful candidates must submit relevant self-attested certificates within the time fixed by TPSC.
