TISS Cleaner cum Hostel Attendant Recruitment 2026: Overview

Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), a deemed university funded by the Ministry of Education, is hiring Cleaner cum Hostel Attendants in the Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS) cadre for its RCF Hostel JET III on the Mumbai campus at Deonar. The job is contractual for 11 months to begin with and can be extended if your work is good and the institute still needs the staff. Only male candidates can apply. If you have worked in a hostel, hotel, guest house or hospital housekeeping team, your experience counts in your favour here.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Men only: The notice opens this post to male candidates only.
• Number of posts: The institute says the count may go up or down before selection.
• Reservation: The post is unreserved, but candidates from every category can apply.
• Relaxation: TISS may relax the qualification, experience or age rule in exceptional cases, or for someone already doing a similar job in a government, academic or industry setup.
• Shortlisting: Meeting the requirements does not guarantee a call for the interaction — the institute will shortlist from the applications it gets.
• No travel allowance: You will get no TA/DA for attending the interaction.

• Make beds and move heavy items such as mattresses and laundry bags
• Spot maintenance problems like broken lights or leaking pipes and report them to the hostel office at once
