Tezpur University JRF Recruitment 2026: Overview

Tezpur University, a Central University in Assam set up by an Act of Parliament, is hiring a Junior Research Fellow (JRF) for a CSIR-funded research project in its Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering. The project is titled "Hybrid 3D Nanostructure on Biodegradable Flexible Substrate as Ultrasensitive Plasmonic Biosensor" and is led by Dr. Biplob Mondal, Associate Professor in the department.

This is a project-based, temporary fellowship, not a permanent university post. It suits you if you have a background in electronics, physics, instrumentation, bioengineering or a related field, have cleared NET or GATE, and want hands-on research work on nanostructures and plasmonic biosensors. The fellowship can move up to the SRF level in the third year, as per rules, if the project continues.

Plasmonic biosensors detect tiny amounts of biological material by tracking how light interacts with metal nanostructures. Building them on biodegradable, flexible substrates points towards low-cost, disposable sensors for health testing, so you will be working in a growing research area that can lead naturally into a Ph.D. Graduates from several branches qualify, so check that your degree subject appears in the notice before you apply.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Tenure: The appointment starts for one year or until further orders, whichever comes first. It can be extended based on your performance, but it ends with the project.
• Citizenship: Only Indian citizens can apply.
• No Objection Certificate: If you are working somewhere or doing a Ph.D., you must submit an NOC from your employer or Ph.D. supervisor.
• Interview mode: The interview runs in blended mode. Offline is the normal route; an online interview is allowed only as a special case, and you must ask for it in advance with a valid reason.
• Document check: If you attend offline, the selection committee checks your original documents on the spot. If you attend online, you must bring all originals and self-attested copies on the day of joining, where the Principal Investigator verifies them.
• Travel: No TA/DA is paid for attending the interview.
