About This Job

SVNIT Surat is hiring 1 Junior Research Fellow (JRF) for a sponsored research project on Hybrid Renewable Energy Systems. Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology (SVNIT), Surat has released an advertisement for the recruitment of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) in the Department of Electrical Engineering. This position is under the IDAPT-HUB, IIT BHU sponsored project titled "Development of an Indigenous Web-Based Tool for Optimal Sizing and Integration of Hybrid Renewable Energy Systems". The project is supervised by Dr. Aeidapu Mahesh (PI) from SVNIT Surat and Dr. Naveen Yalla (Co-PI) from IIT BHU, Varanasi.

Essential Qualification

  • First Class M.E./M.Tech. in Power Systems, Renewable Energy, Energy Science, Computer Science, or Allied branches
  • B.E./B.Tech. in Electrical Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Computer Science Engineering, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or other allied branches
  • You must have qualified GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering)

Desirable Qualification

  • Strong skills in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Advanced Python programming skills
  • Knowledge of meta-heuristic algorithms
  • Knowledge of MATLAB

Salary

  • Fellowship: Rs. 37,000 per month + HRA at 20% (Rs. 7,400)
  • Total monthly pay: approximately Rs. 44,400
  • Duration: 1 year, extendable up to 2 years or till the project ends (whichever is earlier)

Selection Process

  1. Screening of Applications — A selection committee will shortlist candidates based on eligibility and other criteria. Simply meeting the minimum eligibility does not guarantee an interview call.
  2. Interview / Test — Shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview or test (online or offline). The exact schedule will be shared via email or the SVNIT website.

Note: No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview or test.

Responsibilities

  • Work on the development of an indigenous web-based tool for optimal sizing of hybrid renewable energy systems
  • Assist in research on integration strategies for hybrid renewable energy systems using meta-heuristic algorithms
  • Handle web development tasks using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Python for the project tool
  • Prepare research papers and publications based on project outcomes
  • Follow IDAPT-HUB, IIT BHU and SVNIT Surat project guidelines and reporting requirements
  • Manage data collection, analysis, and simulation related to renewable energy system sizing
  • Work closely with the Principal Investigator (Dr. Aeidapu Mahesh) and Co-PI (Dr. Naveen Yalla) on project deliverables

Eligibility Criteria

Minimum Qualification
