SPMCIL Chief General Manager Recruitment 2026: Overview

Security Printing and Minting Corporation of India Limited (SPMCIL) wants senior officers to join as Chief General Managers on deputation. SPMCIL is a Schedule 'A' Miniratna Category-I central PSU under the Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance, and it produces India's currency notes, coins, passports, security paper, postage stamps and non-judicial stamp papers. A Chief General Manager here heads a full production unit and reports to the Directors and the CMD. The aim of this drive is to build a ready panel of unit and technical heads, so it suits experienced engineers who already hold senior posts in government or a PSU.

The company runs four mints at Mumbai, Kolkata, Hyderabad and Noida, currency and security presses at Nashik, Dewas and Hyderabad, and a high-quality security paper mill at Narmadapuram. Its corporate office sits at the World Trade Centre, Nauroji Nagar, New Delhi. Every unit works to production and sales targets agreed with the Government under an MoU, so whoever heads a unit is answerable for output, efficiency and the smart use of resources.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Serving officers only: This is a deputation post, so you must already work as an officer or executive in a government department, PSU, autonomous body or statutory body. Open-market candidates cannot apply.
• Tenure: The deputation starts with a three-year term; any extension follows Government of India rules.
• Transfer liability: You can be moved to any SPMCIL unit or the corporate office, based on operational priority and functional need.
• Pay fixation: Your pay and other benefits on deputation are fixed under the prevailing DoPT and DPE rules.
• Interview travel: If you are called for the interview, SPMCIL reimburses economy-class airfare once you show your tickets.
• Shortlisting: Meeting the minimum conditions does not guarantee an interview call. The management can raise the bar to limit the number of candidates and can cancel or pause the process without giving reasons.
• Legal disputes: Any case about this recruitment can be filed only in courts at Delhi.
• Canvassing: Any form of canvassing leads to disqualification.

Your application must be forwarded by your Competent Authority along with the Annexure-II certificate, and that authority also makes your appraisal reports for the last five years available to SPMCIL. You may send an advance copy yourself, but the forwarded copy from your cadre controlling authority must reach SPMCIL before the interview, or you will not be allowed to appear.
