The Department of Health and Family Welfare, Government of Sikkim, has issued Notification No. 152/H&FWD/ADM/2026-27 dated 11 May 2026 for the engagement of faculty at Helen Lepcha Sikkim Government Medical College, Gangtok. This is Sikkim's first government medical college, and the selected candidates will work under the Principal Director (Medical Education). Local Sikkim candidates are preferred; non-local candidates will be considered only if local candidates are unavailable. Selection is purely through walk-in-interview — there is no written exam.

Who Can Apply?

For Professor (Community Medicine)

For Senior Resident (Anatomy)

• Qualification: Relevant postgraduate qualification (MD / MS in Anatomy) as per NMC TEQ 2025 norms.

• Domicile: Local candidates from Sikkim are preferred. Non-local candidates will be considered only if local candidates are not available.
• Registration: Valid registration with MCI / NMC / State Medical Council.

Salary

• Professor (Community Medicine): Consolidated pay of Rs. 2,50,000 per month
• Senior Resident (Anatomy): Consolidated pay of Rs. 91,000 per month
