The Department of Health and Family Welfare, Government of Sikkim, has issued Notification No. 152/H&FWD/ADM/2026-27 dated 11 May 2026 for the engagement of faculty at Helen Lepcha Sikkim Government Medical College, Gangtok. This is Sikkim's first government medical college, and the selected candidates will work under the Principal Director (Medical Education). Responsibilities
- Teach undergraduate and postgraduate medical students at Helen Lepcha Sikkim Government Medical College
- Prepare lectures, tutorials, demonstrations, and practical sessions in Community Medicine or Anatomy as per NMC curriculum
- Guide students with academic research, dissertations, and clinical postings
- Evaluate student assessments, viva-voce examinations, and clinical performance
- Participate in departmental, college, and university academic committees
- Conduct research, contribute to publications, and support medical education quality assurance
- Assist in field outreach activities and community health programmes (for Community Medicine faculty)
- Carry out clinical duties and demonstrations under the supervision of senior faculty (for Senior Residents)

Minimum Qualification
Postgraduate Degree (MD/MS) in concerned specialty as per NMC TEQ 2025 norms
Preferred Qualification
Higher teaching experience in Community Medicine or Anatomy at a recognised medical institution
