Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGIMS), Lucknow, has invited offline applications for 2 Security Officer posts on a deputation basis. SGPGIMS Lucknow, one of India's top-ranked medical institutes (NIRF Rank 5 in Medical category), is looking to fill 2 Security Officer vacancies on deputation under Advertisement No. I/50/Rectt/2025-26. This is a great opportunity for serving police and armed forces officers who want to work in a prestigious autonomous medical institution in Uttar Pradesh. The institute is spread across a 550-acre campus on Raebareli Road, Lucknow.

Who Can Apply?

This post is open only to serving government officers. You must be from one of these backgrounds:

• Police Department officers (Central, State, or Union Territory)
• Armed Forces officers including Paramilitary Forces

Qualification and Experience

You need to meet one of these conditions:

• Hold an analogous post in Level-10 of the Pay Matrix (pre-revised: PB-3 Rs. 15,600-39,100 + Grade Pay Rs. 5,400)
• Have 3 years of regular service in Level-08 of the Pay Matrix (pre-revised: PB-3 Rs. 9,300-34,800 + Grade Pay Rs. 4,800) or above

Preferred experience: Work connected with security, handling agitations, and strikes of employees.

Important: Only domiciles of Uttar Pradesh are eligible for reservation benefits. Candidates from Central/State Government services must provide a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their employer.

Age Limit

• Maximum age: 50 years as on 1 January 2026
• Age relaxation for SC/ST/OBC and other reserved categories as per Uttar Pradesh Government rules
• If you belong to multiple reserved categories, only the most beneficial relaxation will apply

Salary

• Pay Level-10 under 7th CPC: Rs. 56,100 - Rs. 1,77,500 per month (basic pay)
• Grade Pay: Rs. 5,400 (pre-revised)
• Allowances: Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), Transport Allowance, and other benefits as per Central Government / Institute rules applicable to deputation posts

Selection Process

1. Interview - Selection will be based on interview in order of merit
2. Screening/Written Test - If the number of applications is large, the Competent Authority may conduct a screening or written test before the interview
3. Medical Examination - Selected candidates must undergo a medical examination as per Institute rules
4. Document Verification - All original documents will be verified before final selection

• Handle day-to-day security operations across the SGPGIMS campus, including all hospital buildings, hostels, and residential areas
• Manage and supervise the security staff, including guards, watchmen, and other security personnel posted at various entry and exit points
• Prepare duty rosters, patrol schedules, and emergency response plans for the campus security team
• Monitor CCTV surveillance systems and coordinate with local police authorities during emergencies or security threats
• Assist the administration in handling agitations, strikes, or any law-and-order situations within the institute premises
• Follow up on security-related complaints, incidents, and FIRs, and maintain detailed records of all security events
• Work with the administration to implement fire safety protocols, disaster management plans, and VIP security arrangements
