SEEPZ Special Economic Zone (SEEPZ SEZ), functioning under the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India, has invited applications for 7 Assistant Development Commissioner positions across its offices in Mumbai, Pune, and Nagpur. Established in 1973, SEEPZ is India's pioneering export processing zone and a major hub for electronics hardware, software, and gem & jewellery exports. This is a deputation opportunity on cost recovery basis with an initial tenure of three years, extendable as per DoPT norms. Who Can Apply?

You must be a serving government officer who meets one of the following conditions:

Option A: Analogous Post

  • You should be holding an analogous post on a regular basis in the parent cadre or department.

Option B: 3 Years of Service

  • You must have 3 years of regular service in a post carrying the pre-revised pay scale of Rs. 5,500-9,000 or its equivalent.

Option C: 8 Years of Service

  • You must have 8 years of regular service in a post carrying the pre-revised pay scale of Rs. 5,000-8,000.

Additional Requirement (Mandatory)

  • Experience: You need at least 2 years of experience in Foreign Trade or Industrial Development work.

Age Limit

  • Maximum age: 56 years as on the closing date of receipt of application (28 June 2026).
  • This age cap applies to appointments by deputation, transfer, or deputation on short-term contract.

Salary

  • Pay Band: PB-2 Rs. 9,300-34,800 with Grade Pay of Rs. 4,600
  • 7th CPC Level: Level-7 in the pay matrix

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Development Commissioner in overseeing the administration and operations of the Special Economic Zone units.
  • Handle matters related to Foreign Trade policy implementation, customs procedures, and export-import facilitation for zone units.
  • Monitor compliance of SEZ units with the SEZ Act, Rules, and applicable regulations.
  • Coordinate with Ministry of Commerce & Industry, DGFT, Customs, and other regulatory bodies on zone-related matters.
  • Process approvals for new units, expansions, and modifications in accordance with the SEZ framework.
  • Manage grievance redressal for zone developers and unit holders, ensuring timely resolution.
  • Prepare periodic reports on zone performance, export statistics, and investment data for the Ministry.
  • Follow administrative and establishment matters as assigned, including correspondence, file management, and inter-departmental coordination.

Eligibility Criteria

Minimum Qualification

Holding analogous posts on regular basis or 3-8 years regular service in relevant pay scales, with 2 years experience in Foreign Trade or Industrial Development

Preferred Qualification

Experience in Special Economic Zone administration or export promotion activities

Required Skills

Knowledge of Foreign Trade policy, SEZ Act and Rules, export-import procedures, and government administrative procedures
