SBI is hiring 7,680 Junior Associates (Customer Support & Sales) in the clerical cadre across 24 circles covering almost every state and union territory. If you have a Graduation degree in any discipline, you can apply online between 11 August 2026 and 31 August 2026. You should be between 20 and 28 years old as on 1 April 2026. State Bank of India's Central Recruitment & Promotion Department has released Advertisement No. CRPD/CR/2026-27/17, inviting applications for 7,680 Junior Associate (Customer Support & Sales) posts across 24 SBI circles. You can apply for vacancies in only one State/UT, and you must be proficient in that state's specified local language (or be exempt using your 10th/12th mark sheet). SBI has separately opened a backlog drive (CRPD/CR/SPLDRIVE/2026-27/16) for SC/ST/OBC candidates, closing 27 August 2026 – check that notification if you fall in those backlog categories. Who Can Apply?

  • Qualification: Graduation in any discipline from a recognised university, as on 31 December 2026. Final-year students can also apply provisionally.
  • Local Language: You must be proficient (reading, writing, speaking, understanding) in the specified local language of the State/UT you apply for, unless your 10th/12th mark sheet already shows you studied that language.
  • Restriction: Candidates already working in SBI's clerical cadre, or who resigned from SBI's clerical cadre earlier, are not eligible to apply.

Age Limit

  • You should be between 20 and 28 years old as on 1 April 2026 (born between 2 April 1998 and 1 April 2006, both dates included).
  • OBC: 3 years relaxation
  • SC/ST: 5 years relaxation
  • PwBD (General/EWS): 10 years; PwBD (OBC): 13 years; PwBD (SC/ST): 15 years
  • Ex-Servicemen/Disabled Ex-Servicemen: actual service rendered plus 3 years (8 years for Disabled Ex-Servicemen from SC/ST, subject to max age 50)
  • Widows, divorced women and judicially separated women (not remarried): 7 years, subject to max age 35 (General/EWS), 38 (OBC) or 40 (SC/ST)
  • Cumulative age relaxation is not available across more than one category.

Salary

  • The pay scale is Rs. 24,050 to Rs. 64,480 with periodic increments, and your starting basic pay is Rs. 26,730 per month (Rs. 24,050 plus two advance increments given to graduates).
  • Total starting emoluments, including DA and other allowances, at a metro posting like Mumbai are around Rs. 46,000 per month for newly recruited graduate Junior Associates.
  • You will also get provident fund, pension under the New Pension Scheme, medical benefits, leave fare concession and other perquisites as per Bank rules.

  • SC / ST / PwBD / Ex-Servicemen / Disabled Ex-Servicemen: No fee
  • Payment mode: online only (debit card, credit card or internet banking). The fee is non-refundable.

Selection Process

The selection process has 3 phases:

  1. Preliminary Examination: Online objective test of 100 questions for 100 marks in 1 hour, covering English Language, Numerical Ability and Reasoning Ability. Negative marking of 0.25 marks per wrong answer.
  2. Main Examination: Online objective test of 190 questions for 200 marks in 2 hours 40 minutes, covering General/Financial Awareness, General English, Quantitative Aptitude, and Reasoning Ability & Computer Aptitude. Negative marking of 0.25 marks per wrong answer.
  3. Local Language Proficiency Test: Required only if you have not studied your opted state's local language in 10th/12th standard. Conducted after the Main Exam but before joining.

Your Preliminary Exam marks are not counted for the final merit list – only your Main Examination score decides your rank, subject to qualifying the language test. A wait list of up to 50% of vacancies (state and category-wise) will also be maintained.

Responsibilities

  • Handle day-to-day customer support at the bank branch counter
  • Process deposits, withdrawals, remittances and other teller transactions
  • Assist customers with account opening, passbook updates and basic banking queries
  • Support the branch in selling banking products such as savings accounts, loans and insurance
  • Maintain accurate records and registers of daily transactions
  • Follow bank protocols for cash handling, KYC and anti-fraud checks
  • Coordinate with senior staff during audits and inspections
  • Deliver courteous and prompt service to walk-in customers

Preliminary Exam - Subject-wise Breakdown

  • English Language: 30 questions (30 marks, 20 minutes)
  • Numerical Ability: 35 questions (35 marks, 20 minutes)
  • Reasoning Ability: 35 questions (35 marks, 20 minutes)

Candidates who clear the Preliminary Exam appear for the Main Examination, which has 190 questions for 200 marks in 2 hours 40 minutes.

Main Exam - Subject-wise Breakdown

  • General/Financial Awareness: 50 questions (50 marks, 35 minutes)
  • General English: 40 questions (40 marks, 35 minutes)
  • Quantitative Aptitude: 50 questions (50 marks, 45 minutes)
  • Reasoning Ability & Computer Aptitude: 50 questions (60 marks, 45 minutes)

Negative Marking: 0.25 marks deducted for each wrong answer in both exams.
