Sambalpur University, Jyoti Vihar, Burla (Odisha) has invited applications for 5 Guest Faculty (Assistant Professor) posts in the P.G. Department of Sanskrit. The engagement is temporary and valid from 01 July 2026 to 31 May 2027 or till the vacancy is filled through regular appointment. Preference will be given to candidates with NET/PhD qualifications. This is a walk-in interview, so there is no online application — eligible candidates need to attend on the interview date with all original documents.

Who Can Apply?

• Educational Qualifications: As per UGC Regulations, 2018 for Assistant Professor posts
• Preferred: Candidates with NET / Ph.D. in Sanskrit will be given preference
• In case such candidates are not available, applicants with a good academic record at the Post-Graduate level in Sanskrit may also be considered

Salary

• Candidates with PhD: Rs. 1,000 per class, subject to a maximum of Rs. 60,000 per month
• Candidates without PhD: Rs. 750 per class, subject to a maximum of Rs. 45,000 per month
• No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview

Selection Process (Walk-in Interview)

Selection will be done through a walk-in interview based on:

1. Career Assessment: Evaluation of academic records and qualifications
2. Research Degree: NET / Ph.D. credentials carry preference
3. Demo Class: You will be asked to deliver a demo class
4. Publications: Your research papers and journal publications are considered
5. Viva-Voce: Personal interview by the selection committee

Selection is as per University norms. Preference may be given to NET qualified candidates.
