Sambalpur University, Jyoti Vihar, Sambalpur, Odisha has issued an advertisement (Ref No: 03/S&T Dept. Project, dated 04 April 2026) for one Project Fellow under a project titled "Beta-Cell restoration in pancreas by natural lead molecules for the management of diabetes: mechanistic insights from in vitro and in vivo diabetic models". The project is funded by the Science and Technology Department, Government of Odisha and will be operated in the Department of Biotechnology & Bioinformatics under Principal Investigator Prof. Pradeep K. Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: M.Sc. with at least 55% marks in any of the following disciplines — Life Science, Botany, Zoology, Biotechnology, or Bioinformatics from a recognised university
• Additional Qualifications: Any additional qualifications relevant to the project are welcome

Salary

• Fellowship: Rs. 30,000 per month (consolidated)
• No TA/DA will be provided for attending the interview
• Duration of project: Three years

Selection Process

Selection is through an interview:

1. Shortlisting: Applications will be screened based on eligibility. Shortlisted candidates will be informed by email and phone call.
2. Interview: The interview is scheduled for 30 April 2026 at 10:00 AM in the Department of Biotechnology & Bioinformatics, Sambalpur University.

Note: No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.

• Conduct laboratory experiments related to beta-cell restoration and diabetes research using natural lead molecules
• Perform in vitro and in vivo experiments using diabetic models as directed by the Principal Investigator
• Maintain laboratory records, data logs, and experimental observations accurately
• Assist in data analysis, result interpretation, and preparation of research reports
• Prepare manuscripts and support publication of research findings in scientific journals
• Manage and maintain laboratory equipment, reagents, and cell culture systems
• Follow laboratory safety protocols and institutional ethical guidelines for animal/cell studies
