Sambalpur University is hiring 4 Guest Faculty (Assistant Professor) in the P.G. Department of Odia at Jyoti Vihar, Burla. Sambalpur University Odia Guest Faculty Recruitment 2026 - 4 Posts

Sambalpur University, Jyoti Vihar, Burla (Odisha) has released advertisement No. 88/Odia dated 20.05.2026 for engagement of Guest Faculty (Assistant Professor) in the P.G. Department of Odia. The engagement is purely temporary and is being made as permitted vide Government of Odisha (Higher Education Department) Order No. 4477/HE dated 01.02.2024 and Order No. 4478/HE dated 01.02.2024. There is no written exam — selection is based on career assessment, demo class and viva-voce.

Who Can Apply?

• Educational Qualification: As per UGC Regulations, 2018 for the post of Assistant Professor in the subject of Odia.
• Preference: Candidates with NET / Ph.D. qualification will be given preference.
• Backup option: If no NET / Ph.D. qualified candidates are available, applicants with a good academic record at the Post-Graduate level may also be considered.

Salary

• Candidates with Ph.D.: Rs. 1,000 per class, subject to a maximum of Rs. 60,000 per month.
• Candidates without Ph.D.: Rs. 750 per class, subject to a maximum of Rs. 45,000 per month.
• No TA / DA will be paid for the interview.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

Selection will be made on the basis of the following components as per University norms:

1. Career Assessment: Marks scored at 10th, 12th, Graduation, Post-Graduation and other qualifications.
2. Research Degree: Ph.D. and M.Phil. credentials in Odia.
3. Demo Class: A live teaching demonstration on a topic from the Odia syllabus.
4. Publications: Research papers in national and international journals.
5. Viva-Voce: Personal interview by the University selection committee.

• Guide undergraduate and postgraduate students in academic and research matters
• Participate in departmental academic activities, seminars and workshops
• Maintain attendance records and submit reports to the Head of the Department
