Sambalpur University, Jyoti Vihar, Burla, Odisha has released a walk-in notice for engagement of Guest Faculty in multiple subjects. The engagement is for the period from 1 July 2026 to 31 May 2027, or until the vacancy is filled in regular manner, whichever is earlier. This is purely temporary teaching work and it will not become a regular, contractual or ad-hoc appointment.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: You need qualification as per UGC Guidelines 2018 for Assistant Professor / Guest Faculty engagement.
• Preferred profile: Candidates with Ph.D. or UGC NET qualification will get preference for the relevant subject.
• PG degree option: If Ph.D./NET candidates are not available, candidates with a postgraduate degree and good academic record may be considered.
• Subject fit: You should attend the interview only for the department or subject matching your qualification.
• Retired faculty: Retired faculty may continue teaching up to 70 years of age, subject to review of satisfactory performance.

Age Limit

• The notice does not mention a separate minimum or maximum age for fresh Guest Faculty candidates.

Salary

• Assistant Professor Guest Faculty without Ph.D.: Rs. 750 per class, maximum 60 classes per month, up to Rs. 45,000 per month. NET-qualified candidates will be preferred.
• Retired Professor: Rs. 50,000 per month for at least 35 classes per month with research guidance and administrative responsibility.
• Retired Associate Professor: Rs. 40,000 per month for at least 35 classes per month with research guidance and administrative responsibility.
• No extra allowances: The notice clearly says no other allowances or financial benefits are allowed for Guest Faculty.
