Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL), a Navratna CPSE under the Ministry of Railways, has released Advertisement No. 05/2026 dated 18 May 2026 for engagement of an experienced General Manager (Design) in the Civil department on contract basis. RVNL builds major infrastructure projects including railways, metro systems, highways, bridges, tunnels and telecom projects in India and abroad. Selection will be through a Walk-in Interview only — no written test, no online application. Senior civil engineers from Government, CPSEs, Indian Railways, Metro Rail Corporations and reputed private infrastructure companies can apply.

Who Can Apply?

Educational Qualification

• Essential: Full-time Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognised University or Institute (AICTE/UGC approved).
• Desirable: Master's Degree in Structural Engineering.
• Only full-time regular courses will be considered. Distance and part-time qualifications are not eligible.

Experience Required

• Minimum 20 years of post-qualification experience in civil engineering design of large infrastructure projects.
• Out of the total experience, at least 5 years must be in design or review of Metro/Railway structures including underground structures, elevated structures, steel bridges, RCC bridges and PSC structures.

Level / Benchmark

• You should be working or have worked at a level equivalent to E-8 / Level-14 in a reputed organisation.
• For private sector candidates, a minimum CTC of Rs. 40 lakh per annum is the indicative benchmark (with documentary proof).

Eligible Background

• Candidates from Central/State Government, CPSEs, Indian Railways, Metro Rail Corporations, or reputed private sector infrastructure or design consultancy firms can apply.
• Crucial date for eligibility: 26 May 2026 (Date of Interview).

Age Limit

• Maximum age: 62 years (as on 26 May 2026)
• If you are eligible for age relaxation on more than one ground, only the highest admissible relaxation will apply.

Salary

• A consolidated monthly remuneration will be paid, fixed in line with your qualification, experience and market standards as per RVNL's contractual engagement policy.
• No additional benefits such as DA, HRA, PF, gratuity or pension will be paid unless specifically provided in the contract.
• Initial contract tenure: 1 year, extendable based on performance and organisational need.

Selection Process

Selection is through:

1. Walk-in Interview: Assessment of experience, domain knowledge and overall suitability for the assignment.
2. Document Verification: Original documents will be checked at the venue.
3. Medical Examination: Selected candidates must undergo a medical examination at their own cost as per RVNL policy before joining.

You must also sign a Service Bond equivalent to two months' remuneration committing to serve RVNL for at least one year.

• Lead design development processes for assigned infrastructure projects under RVNL

• Conduct site visits, surveys and design audits to check on-ground implementation
