Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) General Manager (Civil) Recruitment 2026 - 2 Posts

Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL), a Navratna Central Public Sector Enterprise under the Ministry of Railways, has released Vacancy Notice No. 2026/RVNL/46-CIVIL dated 27 July 2026 for filling two General Manager (Civil) posts at its Kolkata office. These posts are on a deputation basis for five years, subject to government approval for exemption from the rule of immediate absorption. Preference is given to candidates with experience in planning, execution, and management of infrastructure projects, particularly those who have worked in a construction organization.

RVNL was incorporated in 2003 under the Ministry of Railways to implement rail infrastructure projects on a fast-track basis and to raise extra-budgetary resources for railway projects. It was upgraded from Miniratna to Navratna status in 2023, giving it greater financial and operational autonomy, including the power to approve investments of up to Rs. 1,000 crore on a single project without seeking separate government approval.

Who Can Apply?

• Service: Officers from IRSE (Indian Railway Service of Engineers) / Civil Engineering, or other PSUs, are eligible.
• Eligibility Criteria (any one of the following): Holding a substantive post in an analogous grade (CDA/IDA); OR holding a substantive post in Level-13 (CDA) with at least 17 years of service in Group 'A'; OR holding a post carrying grade IDA E-7 (Rs. 1,00,000 – 2,60,000) for four years.
• Experience: Preference will be given to candidates with experience in planning, execution, and management of infrastructure projects or working in a construction organization.

Age Limit

• You should be below 58 years of age as on the closing date of the vacancy notice (26 August 2026).

Salary

• The post is at Level-14 (CDA) / IDA E-8 (Rs. 1,20,000 – 2,80,000).
• As this is a deputation post, you will draw your parent pay plus deputation allowance, not a fixed RVNL salary.

Selection Process

There is no written exam — selection is based on eligibility screening and proper-channel forwarding:

1. Application Submission: You must apply on the prescribed proforma available on the RVNL website.
2. Forwarding through Proper Channel: Your controlling officer/zonal railway must forward your application along with vigilance/DAR clearance and your APAR grading for the last 5 years, within 15 days of the closing date.
3. Document Verification: Your eligibility and documents will be verified before a final selection is made.
