National Film Development Corporation of India (NFDC), a Government of India enterprise based in Mumbai, wants a senior leader to run Film Bazaar — the film market it hosts alongside the International Film Festival of India (IFFI). The Head - Programming, Film Bazaar becomes the overall in-charge of the market, guiding every team that works on it and finalising its programme with the festival director. This is a two-year contractual engagement, not a regular NFDC post.

The role is built for someone who has already spent years organising film markets, festivals or entertainment-industry events and setting up Indian pavilions at foreign film markets. You will also need a working grasp of production and post-production, the commercial side of film, and a track record of mentoring and leading teams. A degree in Film Studies, Film Direction, Media, Mass Communication, Humanities or an MBA is preferred, though any graduate with the right experience can apply.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Contract term: The engagement runs for two years on a contractual basis.
• Outsourced hiring: The contract is routed through an outsourced agency selected by NFDC, so your engagement letter may come from that agency rather than from NFDC directly.

• Supervise staffing, finances, logistics and publicity for sections such as the Co-Production Market, Viewing Lab and Work-In-Progress Lab
• Coordinate with other IFFI section heads and international film markets, and plan Indian stalls and pavilions at foreign film markets
• Invite senior film-fraternity guests and handle their hospitality, follow-up and grievances
• Manage Film Bazaar registrations, publications and distribution
