RRC Central Railway Sports Quota Recruitment 2026

Railway Recruitment Cell, Central Railway (RRC CR) is hiring 12 candidates under the Sports Quota for the year 2026-27, across Level-1 (10 posts) and Level-2 (2 posts). RRC Central Railway has issued Recruitment Notice No. RRC/CR/S&G/02/2026, dated 11 July 2026, to fill 12 posts against the Sports Quota for the year 2026-27, split between Level-1 (10 posts) spread across the Mumbai, Bhusaval, Nagpur, Pune, and Solapur divisions, and Level-2 (2 posts). Talented sportspersons with recognized national, state, or All India Railway-level achievements are encouraged to apply. Selected candidates get a regular railway job while continuing to represent Central Railway in sporting events. The notification is available in both English and Hindi on the RRC Central Railway portal, along with separate online application links for Level-1 and Level-2 posts. This Sports Quota drive is separate from the regular CEN 08/2024 Level-1 recruitment that RRC Central Railway is also running under open advertisement — if you do not qualify under the general route, this Sports Quota window gives you a dedicated path into a permanent Central Railway job based on your playing record rather than a written exam alone.

Who Can Apply?

Citizenship:

• You must be a citizen of India, or
• A citizen of Nepal or Bhutan, or
• A Tibetan refugee who came to India before 1 January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
• A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries, or Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

Sports Achievement (for both Level-1 and Level-2):

• You should have represented your state, or hold a Certificate of Merit (HWB) from a National-level sports competition in your discipline, or
• You should hold an affiliation certificate from a recognized sports organization for any of the last 5 years since 2021-22, in the format prescribed as "Certificate of Merit" in the notification, or
• You should have participated in at least 2 National or All India Railway-level events and 2 State-level events.

Only one of these criteria needs to be met for either level, and your sports achievement will be verified against the format prescribed in the official notification. Age Limit

• Level-2: You should be between 18 and 30 years old (General category).
• Level-1: You should be between 18 and 33 years old (General category).
• Age Relaxation: 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC candidates, over the general upper age limit for each level.
• Age is calculated as on 1 January 2027.
• PwBD: Additional relaxation of 10 years (UR), 13 years (OBC), or 15 years (SC/ST) over the applicable upper age limit.
• Widowed/Divorced/Judicially Separated Women: Upper age limit is 35 years (UR), 38 years (OBC), or 40 years (SC/ST) if they have not remarried.

Application Fee

• General / OBC / EWS: Rs. 500 (certain categories are exempted — check the official notification for the full exemption list).
• Refund: Rs. 400 will be refunded after you appear in the written exam/trial, after deducting bank charges.
• Fee once paid is non-transferable between Level-1 and Level-2 applications, so choose the correct level before paying.

Selection Process

Based on the notification, your application goes through the following stages:

1. Document/Certificate Verification: Your citizenship, sports achievement, age, and category certificates are checked against the eligibility criteria.
2. Selection Committee Review: Eligible candidates are considered further as per RRC Sports Quota recruitment guidelines.

How to Apply

1. Go to the RRC Central Railway portal at rrccr.com.
2. Click on "Apply Online for Level 1" or "Apply Online for Level 2" depending on the post you are applying for — these are two separate application links.
3. Register and fill in the online application form with your personal, educational, and sports achievement details.
4. Upload your documents, including your Aadhaar Card, which is required to establish your identity.
5. Pay the application fee online.
6. Submit the form and keep a printout for your records.

Note: All eligible candidates who wish to apply should keep their Aadhaar Card available with them, as it will be required to establish identity during the application and selection process. Keep your sports achievement certificates and category certificates ready as well, since the portal may ask you to upload them at the time of registration.
