Rajiv Gandhi University has released Notice No. RGU/PC/DRDO-677/SPM/2026, dated 12 August 2026, inviting candidates for 2 Junior Research Fellow positions under a project funded by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO). The project is titled "Cultural Value Orientations and Military Qualities: Mapping Regional Variations Among Adolescents and Young Adults across North-East Indian States" and runs under the Principal Investigatorship of Dr. Satchit Prasun Mandal, Department of Psychology. These are purely temporary, project-linked posts that end when the project is completed. As a JRF, you will help with field studies, build psychological assessment tools, collect data, run statistical analysis, and prepare reports and documentation for the project — a good opportunity for Social Science postgraduates interested in psychology research in the North-East region.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: Post-graduation in any Social Science discipline with a minimum of 55% marks.
• Candidates who have appeared for their final postgraduate exams and are awaiting results can also apply, but you must meet the minimum qualification by the time of joining.

Salary

• Selected JRFs will get a consolidated salary of Rs. 37,000 per month plus House Rent Allowance (HRA).
• No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

There is no written test for this recruitment. Selection happens in these stages:

1. Walk-in Interview: Held in person at the Department of Psychology, RGU, Rono Hills, Doimukh on 17 August 2026 from 10:00 AM.
2. Document Verification: Your original certificates and testimonials are checked at the time of the interview.
