RGU CRS Project Fellow Recruitment 2026: Overview
Rajiv Gandhi University (RGU) is engaging a CRS Project Fellow (Junior)-I in its Department of Chemistry at Rono Hills, Doimukh. The fellow will join a UGC-DAE Consortium for Scientific Research project under the Collaborative Research Scheme, giving you a role that combines university laboratory work with a defined national research programme. The project focuses on morphologically diverse ferroelectric materials with strong piezoelectric performance, so it suits an early-career chemistry researcher interested in functional materials and their structure-property relationships.
The work sits within a three-year research project led by the principal investigator in the Chemistry department. You would contribute to a focused materials-synthesis study rather than a general teaching assignment, with the laboratory and academic environment of the university supporting the project. The attached application form also asks about UGC-NET or GATE status and prior experience, although the notice does not make either one an essential condition.
Service Conditions and Caveats
- Contract term: The first appointment runs for one year from joining and may be renewed when your performance is satisfactory. The position remains temporary and ends with the project.
- Research progression: The funding agency may upgrade the fellow to the Junior-II category after its prescribed conditions are met; the upgrade is not automatic.
- Doctoral enrolment: The selected fellow must enrol in the university's PhD programme, subject to meeting RGU's separate admission rules.
- Future employment: The project appointment does not create a claim to another post at the university after the assignment ends.
- Interview travel: RGU will not pay TA or DA for attending the walk-in interview, so you should plan your journey to Doimukh yourself.
- Interview communication: The university will not send a separate call letter. Sending the prior intimation does not replace your responsibility to attend the scheduled walk-in.

Bring every original record supporting your qualification and eligibility, along with one photocopy set, because the university will check them at the venue. The prescribed form is attached to the official advertisement and includes space for your photograph, education, experience and motivation for the project.
