Rajiv Gandhi University, a central university located at Rono Hills, Doimukh in Arunachal Pradesh, has released Notification No. RGU/PC/DBT/ST-683/2026 for 1 Junior Research Fellow position against a Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Government of India sponsored project. The project is titled “Selection of Functional Microbial Inoculum (Starter) for Production of Optimized and Healthy Fermented Rice Based Alcoholic Beverage” and is led by Principal Investigator Prof. Sumpam Tangjang in the Department of Botany. There is no written test for this post — a Selection Committee headed by the PI will interview candidates directly, which makes it a quick route into research work if you are a fresh postgraduate in life sciences.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: You need an M.Sc. degree in any branch of Biological Sciences with a minimum of 55% marks.
• Desirable: Research experience in Microbiology and a GATE or NET qualification will strengthen your application, though they are not compulsory.

Salary

• Selected candidates get a monthly fellowship of Rs. 31,000 plus House Rent Allowance (HRA), as per the rules of the funding agency (DBT).
• No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview or for joining the position.
