Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology (RGIPT) — an Institute of National Importance set up by an Act of Parliament under the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas — has released Advertisement No. RGIPT/Jais/NTS/Contract/04/2026 for 4 contractual non-teaching posts at its Jais Campus, Amethi. RGIPT is co-promoted by six leading Oil PSUs (IOCL, ONGC, GAIL, OIL, BPCL, HPCL) along with the Oil Industry Development Board (OIDB). This is a good chance for finance professionals and ITI fitter trade holders to work with an IIT-grade petroleum institute.

Who Can Apply?

For Superintendent (Audit) — 2 Posts:

• Qualification: Master's degree in Commerce/Finance/Accounts with at least 55% marks and 3 years of relevant experience, OR Bachelor's degree in Commerce/Finance/Accounts with at least 55% marks and 5 years of relevant experience.
• Experience must be in: Government Departments, Autonomous Bodies, PSUs, or Reputed Institutions in Audit / Accounts / Finance.
• Desirable Skills: Sound knowledge of General Financial Rules 2017, government accounting and audit procedures, MS Excel, office noting and drafting, procurement, contract management, and budgeting.

For Technician (Fitter) — 2 Posts:

• Qualification: ITI Certificate in Fitter Trade from a recognised Industrial Training Institute.
• Experience: Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in fitting, assembly, maintenance and mechanical workshop operations.

Age Limit

• Maximum age: 35 years for both posts.
• The crucial date for determining eligibility is the last date of online application (31 May 2026).

Salary

• Superintendent (Audit): Rs. 50,000 per month (consolidated).
• Technician (Fitter): Rs. 40,000 per month (consolidated).
• The appointment is contractual for 1 year initially, extendable based on performance and institute requirements.

Selection Process

The selection will be done in these stages:

1. Shortlisting: Based on qualification, experience and other parameters mentioned in the application. Higher qualifications will be given preference.
2. Skill Test / Personal Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be called for a skill test or personal interview. Mere possession of minimum qualification does not entitle you to be called.
3. Document Verification: You must produce self-attested copies of all certificates along with originals for verification at the time of skill test or interview.

No TA/DA will be paid for appearing in the Skill Test or Personal Interview. Communication will be by email only — make sure you have a working email address.

• Conduct and supervise internal audit and compliance checks at RGIPT (Superintendent Audit)
• Scrutinise procurement proposals, tenders, contracts, financial approvals and sanction orders
• Prepare and vet audit observations and inspection reports
• Monitor compliance of audit paras and assist in CAG and statutory audit matters
• Handle fitting, assembly, machining, drilling, grinding and tapping operations in the Central Mechanical Workshop (Technician Fitter)
• Operate lathe machines and perform basic machining work as per technical drawings
• Maintain, repair and align mechanical tools and workshop equipment
• Support faculty, researchers and students in workshop-related work for research projects and laboratory setups
