Ravenshaw University, Cuttack (Odisha) has released Advertisement No. 1765 dated 12.05.2026 inviting online applications for 55 Associate Professor posts in 20 departments, including backlog vacancies. The university is an A++ NAAC-accredited state public university with a legacy going back to 1868. Who Can Apply?

  • Qualification: You need a good academic record with a Ph.D degree in the concerned, allied or relevant discipline.
  • Master's Degree: Master's degree with at least 55% marks (or equivalent grade). SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy)/PwBD candidates get a 5% relaxation at both Bachelor's and Master's level.
  • Experience: Minimum 8 years of teaching or research experience as Assistant Professor in a University, College or accredited research institution.
  • Publications: At least 7 publications in peer-reviewed or UGC-listed journals.
  • Research Score: Total research score of 75 points as per Appendix II, Table 2 of UGC Regulations 2018.

Age Limit

  • No minimum age
  • Maximum age: 60 years — candidates above 60 years are not eligible to apply
  • The retirement age (superannuation) for these posts is 60 years as per Government of Odisha norms

Selection Process

There is no written exam. The university shortlists candidates based on academic and research record (Appendix II, Table 2 of UGC Regulations 2018) and the final selection is through an interview by a UGC-prescribed selection committee.

  1. Shortlisting: Based on academic score, research publications, project experience, patents, awards and other research activities (UGC Appendix II Table 2 methodology).
  2. Interview: Conducted by the selection committee constituted as per the UGC notification dated 18 July 2018.
  3. Document Verification: Original certificates, mark sheets and supporting documents will be verified at the time of interview. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.
