Who Can Apply?

Option A — Master's + NET/SLET/SET or Ph.D

• Master's Degree: Master's degree with at least 55% marks (or equivalent grade) in the relevant subject from an Indian university or equivalent foreign university.
• NET/SLET/SET: Must have cleared NET conducted by UGC/CSIR, or an accredited SLET/SET. OR hold a Ph.D awarded as per UGC (M.Phil/Ph.D Degree) Regulations 2009 or 2016, in which case NET/SLET/SET is not required.
• Relaxation: SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy)/PwBD candidates get a 5% relaxation at Bachelor's and Master's level.

Option B — Ph.D from a Top 500 Foreign University

• Ph.D degree obtained from a foreign university ranked among the top 500 in the World University Rankings (QS, THE or ARWU) at any time.

Selection is based only on interview performance; the academic score (Appendix II Table 3A of UGC Regulation 2018) is used only for shortlisting.

Age Limit

• No minimum age
• Maximum age: 60 years — candidates above 60 years are not eligible
• Superannuation age for these posts is 60 years as per Government of Odisha norms

Salary

• Pay scale: Academic Level 10 (Rs. 57,700 - Rs. 1,82,400) as per the 7th Central Pay Commission
• Allowances: DA, HRA and other allowances as per Government of Odisha and Higher Education Department rules

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

Selection is based on academic score (for shortlisting only) followed by an interview. The final selection is decided purely by interview performance.

1. Academic Score (out of 100, for shortlisting): Graduation marks (15 max), Post Graduation (25 max), M.Phil (7 max), Ph.D (30), NET with JRF (7), NET (5), SET/SLET (3), Research Publications (10 max — 2 per paper), Teaching/Post-doctoral Experience (10 max — 2 per year), Awards (3 international/national, 2 state).
2. Interview: Conducted by a UGC-prescribed selection committee. Final selection is based only on interview performance.
3. Document Verification: Original certificates and supporting documents will be verified at the time of interview.
