The Office of the District Judge, Puri is hiring 16 Group 'C' posts in the Judgeship of Puri. These include 1 Junior Typist, 14 Junior Clerk-cum-Copyists, and 1 Salaried Amin. The Office of the District Judge, Puri has released Advertisement No. 02 of 2026 dated 19 May 2026 for filling up vacant Group 'C' posts on a regular basis. The recruitment is governed by the Odisha District and Civil Courts' Judicial Staff Services (Method of Recruitment and Conditions of Service) Rules, 2008. Who Can Apply?
For Junior Typist and Junior Clerk-cum-Copyist (Pay Level 4)
- You must be a citizen of India.
- You must have passed +3 examination (graduation) or equivalent from a recognized university.
- You must have a Diploma in Computer Application (DCA) from a recognized institute.
- You must be able to speak, read and write Oriya and have passed a test in Oriya equivalent to the M.E. standard.
- For Junior Typist only: You must have a minimum typing speed of 40 words per minute through computer system.
- You must be of good character, sound health, and free from organic defects.
- You must not have more than one spouse living, if married.
- You must have no criminal antecedent as on the date of application.
For Salaried Amin (Pay Level 5)
- You must be a citizen of India.
- You must have passed the Matriculation (10th) or equivalent examination from a recognized Board.
- You must have completed Revenue Inspector Training from a recognized institute.
- All other conditions for Junior Clerk-cum-Copyist (Oriya knowledge, character, health, etc.) also apply.
Age Limit
- You should be above 18 years and below 42 years of age as on the last date for receipt of applications, i.e., 19 June 2026.
- The upper age limit is relaxed for women and reserved categories (SC/ST/SEBC) as per Odisha Government rules.
Salary
- Junior Typist and Junior Clerk-cum-Copyist: Rs. 19,900 to Rs. 63,200 per month under Level 4 of the Pay Matrix in the 1st Schedule of O.R.S.P. Rules, 2017.
- Salaried Amin: Rs. 21,700 to Rs. 69,100 per month under Level 5 of the Pay Matrix.
- You will also receive DA, HRA and other allowances as per Odisha government rules.

Selection Process
The competitive examination is conducted by the District Recruitment Committee. The selection process differs by post:
For Junior Typist
- Written Test - English: 100 marks, 2 hours (qualifying in nature)
- Type Writing Test: 50 marks, 10 minutes. A 400-word English passage to be typed in 10 minutes on computer system. Minimum qualifying: 55% (General) / 50% (SC/ST).
- Computer Science Test (Practical): 100 marks, 1 hour. Minimum cut-off: 50% (General) / 40% (SC/ST).
- Viva-Voce Test: 35 marks
For Junior Clerk-cum-Copyist
- Written Test: English (100 marks, 2 hours), Arithmetic (100 marks, 1 hour), General Knowledge (100 marks, 1 hour)
- Computer Science Test (Practical): 100 marks, 1 hour
- Viva-Voce Test: 45 marks
For Salaried Amin
- Written Examination (Phase I): General English (50 marks), Computer Written Test (50 marks), Language Test - Odia (50 marks), Arithmetic (100 marks), General Knowledge (100 marks)
- Computer Science Test (Practical) (Phase II): 50 marks, 45 minutes

Responsibilities
- Handle typing, copying, and clerical work in the court office
- Maintain court records, case files, and registers in proper order
- Prepare official letters, notices, and copies of court documents
- Use computer systems to enter, retrieve, and manage case data
- Assist judicial officers and senior staff with day-to-day administrative work
- Conduct field measurement and survey work for the Salaried Amin role
- Attend court duties as assigned by the District Judge
- Follow the rules of the Odisha District and Civil Courts' Judicial Staff Services

Minimum Qualification
For Junior Clerk-cum-Copyist and Junior Typist: +3 examination (graduation) from a recognized university with Diploma in Computer Application. For Salaried Amin: Matriculation (10th) with Revenue Inspector Training.
