Nuapada District Court Recruitment 2026 - 18 Posts
The Office of the District Judge, Nuapada has released Advertisement No. 01 of 2026 on 15 May 2026 inviting applications for 18 vacancies across three posts in the Judgeship of Nuapada. No examination fee is required from any candidate. The appointment will be governed by the Odisha District and Civil Courts Judicial Staff Services (Method of Recruitment and Conditions of Service) Rules, 2008 (Amended up to 2026). Common Requirements (All Posts)
- Citizenship: Must be a citizen of India
- Qualification: Must have passed at least +3 examination (Graduation) or equivalent from a recognised University
- Computer: Must have passed at least Diploma in Computer Application from a recognised Institute
- Language: Must be able to speak, read and write Odia and must have passed a test in Odia equivalent to the M.E. standard
- Character & Health: Good character, sound health, good physique, free from organic defects
- Marital Status: Must not have more than one spouse living, if married
- Criminal Record: No criminal proceeding should be pending against you
Additional Requirements by Post
- Junior Typist: Minimum typing speed of 40 words per minute in English typewriting
- Stenographer Grade-III: Minimum 80 words per minute in shorthand and 40 words per minute in English typewriting
Age Limit
- Minimum age: 18 years
- Maximum age: 42 years as on 17 June 2026 (last date for receipt of applications)
- Age Relaxation: Upper age limit is relaxable for SC/ST/SEBC and other reserved categories as per the rules of the State Government
- Date of Birth as per the High School Certificate will only be accepted

- Junior Clerk-cum-Copyist: Rs. 19,900 - Rs. 63,200 per month (Level-4 of Pay Matrix)

- Stenographer Grade-III: Rs. 25,500 - Rs. 81,100 per month (Level-7 of Pay Matrix)
- Plus usual DA and other allowances as admissible by the State Government of Odisha

Selection Process
Selection will be done through a multi-stage process. The exam will be conducted in English only on a Computer System for the typing and shorthand tests.
For Junior Clerk-cum-Copyist
- Written Examination: English (100 marks, 2 hours), Arithmetic (100 marks, 1 hour), General Knowledge (100 marks, 1 hour) — minimum 35% in each paper required
- Computer Science Test (Practical): 100 marks, 1 hour — minimum 50% (40% for SC/ST) required
- Viva-voce Test: 45 marks
For Junior Typist
- Written Examination: English (100 marks, qualifying in nature, 2 hours) — minimum 35% required
- Type Test: 50 marks, 10 minutes through computer — minimum 55% (50% for SC/ST) required
- Computer Science Test (Practical): 100 marks, 1 hour
- Viva-voce Test: 35 marks
For Stenographer Grade-III
- Written Examination: English (100 marks, qualifying in nature, 2 hours)
- Shorthand & Typewriting Test: 50 marks (5 + 10 minutes) through computer
- Computer Science Test (Practical): 100 marks, 1 hour
- Viva-voce Test: 35 marks

Responsibilities
- Handle file processing, indexing, and maintain office records of the District Court
- Prepare copies of judicial orders, judgments, and case documents (for Junior Clerk-cum-Copyist)
- Type court orders, notices, and official correspondence in English using computer systems
- Take shorthand dictation from judges and stenographic notes of court proceedings (for Stenographer)
- Assist court officials with day-to-day administrative work
- Manage incoming and outgoing correspondence and case files
- Maintain confidentiality of court records and judicial documents
- Use court software for data entry and document management
Eligibility Criteria
Minimum Qualification
+3 (Graduation) from a recognised University AND Diploma in Computer Application from a recognised Institute. Must have passed a test in Odia equivalent to M.E. standard.
Required Skills
Odia language reading/writing/speaking, computer operation, typing (40 WPM English) for Typist/Stenographer, shorthand (80 WPM) for Stenographer

Exam Pattern
