Dhenkanal District Court is hiring 20 Group C posts — Junior Clerk-cum-Copyist, Junior Typist, Stenographer Grade-III and Salaried Amin. The Office of the District Judge, Dhenkanal has released Advertisement No. 02/Rect./2026 dated 15 May 2026 for direct recruitment to 20 posts in the Judgeship of Dhenkanal. The recruitment is governed by the Odisha District and Civil Courts' Judicial Staff Services (Method of Recruitment and Conditions of Service) Rules, 2008. Who Can Apply?

For Junior Clerk-cum-Copyist, Junior Typist & Stenographer Grade-III:

  • Citizenship: You must be a Citizen of India.
  • Education: You must have passed at least the +3 examination (graduation) or equivalent from a recognised University.
  • Computer: You must have at least a Diploma in Computer Application from a recognised institute.
  • Language: You must be able to speak, read and write Odia and have passed a test in Odia equivalent to M.E. Standard.
  • Typing Speed (Junior Typist): Minimum 40 words per minute in typewriting on computer.
  • Typing Speed (Stenographer Grade-III): Minimum 80 words per minute in shorthand and 40 words per minute in typewriting on computer.

For Salaried Amin:

  • Citizenship: You must be a Citizen of India.
  • Education: You must have passed the H.S.C. (Matriculation) examination or equivalent from a recognised Board.
  • Training: You must have passed the Revenue Inspector Training from a Govt/Recognised institute.
  • Computer: You must have knowledge of Computer Application.
  • Language: You must be able to speak, read and write Odia at M.E. Standard.

Age Limit

  • You should be over 18 years and below 42 years of age as on 01-05-2026.
  • Age Relaxation: Upper age limit will be relaxed for reserved category candidates (SC/ST/SEBC) as per Rule-5 of the Odisha District and Civil Courts' Judicial Staff Services Rules, 2008.
  • You must not have more than one spouse living, if married.

Salary

  • Junior Clerk-cum-Copyist: Level-4, Rs. 19,900 - 63,200 per month (ORSP Rules, 2017)
  • Junior Typist: Level-4, Rs. 19,900 - 63,200 per month
  • Stenographer Grade-III: Level-7, Rs. 25,500 - 81,100 per month
  • Salaried Amin: Level-5, Rs. 21,700 - 69,100 per month
  • You will also get usual D.A. and other allowances as admissible from time to time by the Government of Odisha.

Selection Process

The selection will be done in three or four parts depending on the post:

For Junior Clerk-cum-Copyist:

  1. Part-I Written Test: English (100 marks, 2 hours), Arithmetic (100 marks, 1 hour), General Knowledge (100 marks, 1 hour).
  2. Part-II Computer Science Test (Practical): 100 marks, 1 hour.
  3. Part-III Viva Voce Test: 45 marks.

For Stenographer Grade-III:

  1. Part-I English Test (Qualifying): 100 marks, 2 hours.
  2. Part-II Shorthand & Type Writing Test (on computer): 50 marks, 15 minutes. You must score at least 55% (50% for SC/ST).
  3. Part-III Computer Science Test (Practical): 100 marks, 1 hour. Minimum 50% (40% for SC/ST) to qualify.
  4. Part-IV Viva Voce Test: 35 marks.

For Junior Typist:

  1. Part-I English Test (Qualifying): 100 marks, 2 hours.
  2. Part-II Type Writing Test (on computer): 50 marks, 10 minutes.
  3. Part-III Computer Science Test (Practical): 100 marks, 1 hour.
  4. Part-IV Viva Voce Test: 35 marks.

For Salaried Amin:

  1. Part-I Written Test: English (100 marks, 2 hours), Arithmetic (50 marks, 1 hour), Technical Knowledge in Survey & Settlement Theory (50 marks, 1 hour).
  2. Part-II Survey Practical Test: 50 marks.
  3. Part-III Viva Voce Test: 30 marks.

If you are shortlisted for more than one cadre, you can appear for only one cadre of post in the Written Examination as per your choice.

Responsibilities

  • Handle file processing, record maintenance and copy-related work in the District Court (Junior Clerk-cum-Copyist)
  • Type letters, judgments and court documents on computer (Junior Typist)
  • Take shorthand dictation from judges and reproduce typed transcripts accurately (Stenographer Grade-III)
  • Conduct survey and settlement work, prepare land records and maintain revenue registers (Salaried Amin)
  • Assist judicial officers and senior court staff with daily court administration
  • Maintain confidentiality of all court documents and court proceedings
  • Handle correspondence in English and Odia as required by the court
  • Follow Odisha District and Civil Courts' Judicial Staff Services rules and procedures

Eligibility Criteria

Minimum Qualification

+3 (Graduation) from a recognised University with Diploma in Computer Application from a recognised institute. For Salaried Amin: H.S.C. (Matriculation) with Revenue Inspector Training.

Required Skills

Exam Pattern

The Written Test for the post of Junior Clerk-cum-Copyist has three subjects:

  • English (Paper-I): 100 marks, 2 hours
  • Arithmetic (Paper-II): 100 marks, 1 hour
  • General Knowledge (Paper-III): 100 marks, 1 hour

After the Written Test, qualifying candidates appear for the Computer Science Test (Practical) - 100 marks and then Viva Voce Test - 45 marks.

For Stenographer Grade-III:
