The Port Department, Government of Puducherry, has released a notification for the engagement of one Consultant (Establishment/Accounts) on contract basis. This opportunity is specifically for retired Government officials who have prior experience in establishment and accounts matters. The engagement is initially for six months and can be extended up to five years, making it a stable post-retirement assignment for eligible candidates. The role is on a full-time basis at the Port Department office in Puducherry.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: You need a Bachelor's Degree from a recognized University.
• Experience (any one of the following):
• You should have worked as a Superintendent, OR
• You should have at least 1 year of regular service as Assistant, OR
• You should have at least 5 years of regular service as Upper Division Clerk (UDC) in any Government Department.
• Skills: You should have adequate experience in financial procedures including bill processing, maintenance of accounts, and establishment matters.
• Computer Knowledge: You should be proficient in computer applications such as MS Office.
• This post is open only to retired Government officials.

Salary

• The consultant fee for retired Government officials is equal to your Last Pay Drawn minus Pension — this varies from candidate to candidate based on your service record.
• The engagement is on a full-time basis.

Selection Process

Selection follows the guidelines in the Finance Department's I.D. Note/Memorandum No. 46324/FD/F3/2014 dated 11 September 2014:
