- Diploma in Civil Engineering from a recognized institute, OR
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized university
- For Post 1002: Degree in Civil Engineering OR Diploma in Civil Engineering with 3 years' experience
Junior Engineer (Mechanical/Marine & Mechanical) — Post Codes 1003, 1004
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university, OR
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with 3 years' experience in maintaining machineries in a port or reputable organization, OR
- Part 'A' MOT Certificate of competency as 2nd Class Engineer (Motor)

- Postgraduate Degree in Chemistry / Microbiology / Environmental Science / Biochemistry / Ecology from a recognized university

- Group C Posts (Level 5): Basic pay Rs. 29,200 to Rs. 92,300 per month — applies to Public Relations Assistant and Sub-Inspector of Fisheries
- You will also get Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), and other allowances as per Government of Puducherry rules
