PSSSB Scribe Notice 2026 — Excise Inspector Exam

About This Notice

The Punjab Subordinate Services Selection Board (PSSSB) has issued a public notice for Persons with Disabilities (PwD) candidates who need a scribe (writer) for the written exam of Excise and Taxation Inspector posts. This exam is scheduled on 31 May 2026. If you need a scribe, you must send your request along with documents to scribe.sssb@gmail.com by 24 May 2026 (5:00 PM).

This notice is from the Punjab Subordinate Services Selection Board (PSSSB) under Advertisement No. 01 of 2026 for the 197 posts of Excise and Taxation Inspector under the Excise and Taxation Department, Punjab. The written exam is on 31 May 2026. Only candidates from the Persons with Disabilities (Divyangjan) category are allowed to bring their own scribe — and only if they request it through the proper email process before the deadline.

Who Can Apply for Scribe Facility?

• You must be a registered candidate in PSSSB Advt. No. 01/2026 (Excise and Taxation Inspector).
• You must belong to the Persons with Disabilities (Divyangjan) category.
• You must follow the rules of the Government of India, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities — F.No 34-02/2015-DD-III dated 29 August 2018.
• Candidates who go directly to the exam centre asking for a scribe will not be given any help. You must request in advance.

Documents Required (Send Original Scanned Copies)

1. Application request letter for availing scribe
2. Annexure-A — Certificate of physical limitation by Chief Medical Officer / Civil Surgeon / Medical Superintendent of a Government Hospital
3. Disability Certificate issued by competent authority
4. Annexure-B — Letter of Undertaking signed by the candidate (original copy must also be given to the Centre Superintendent on exam day)
5. Scribe's Matriculation certificate as proof of date of birth
6. Scribe's highest educational qualification document
7. Scribe's ID proof — Aadhaar Card / PAN Card / Driving Licence (any one)
8. Copy of your PSSSB application form for the Excise Inspector post

How to Submit Your Scribe Request

1. Get the disability certificate (Annexure-A) from a Government Hospital specialist (e.g. Ophthalmologist for visual impairment, Orthopaedic specialist for locomotor disability).
2. Fill in the scribe request letter and Annexure-B (Letter of Undertaking).
3. Scan all original documents (Annexure-A, Annexure-B, Annexure-C document list).
4. Email everything to scribe.sssb@gmail.com by 24 May 2026, 5:00 PM.
5. On exam day (31 May 2026), bring the original Annexure-B and submit it to the Centre Superintendent.
6. Submit original Annexure-A and Annexure-C documents during the counselling stage.

You do NOT need to visit the PSSSB Mohali office in person — everything is done by email.

Important Warning

• Emails received after 24 May 2026 will not be considered.
• Emails sent from any other email ID (not scribe.sssb@gmail.com) will be rejected.
• If any fact or document is found to be false at any stage, your candidature will be cancelled and legal action will be taken against both the candidate and the scribe.

• Read out questions and answer choices to the PwD candidate in the exam hall
• Mark the OMR sheet or write answers exactly as instructed by the candidate
• Follow all rules set by PSSSB and the Centre Superintendent
• Maintain silence and do not help the candidate with any answer
• Carry original ID proof and educational documents on exam day
• Sign the attendance and undertaking forms as required by the invigilator
