TNPL Senior Manager Recruitment 2026: Overview

Tamil Nadu Newsprint and Papers Limited (TNPL), a Government of Tamil Nadu enterprise that makes paper, paper board, tissue and cement, is hiring for four senior leadership roles. Two posts sit at Unit-I in Kagithapuram, Karur District, and two at the Tissue Plant of Unit-II near Manapparai, Trichy District. The company has its corporate office in Chennai and a turnover of more than Rs. 4,500 crore.

These are not entry-level openings. Every post asks for many years of post-qualification experience in large continuous-process plants, so the drive is aimed at seasoned paper-industry engineers and finance professionals looking for a senior role in a state public sector company.

Posts and Disciplines

• General Manager (Paper): heads the paper-making operations at Unit-I, Karur; open to chemical, pulp and paper engineering graduates or science graduates with a pulp and paper PG diploma.
• Deputy General Manager (Finance): leads finance, costing and accounts at Unit-I, Karur; meant for Chartered Accountants or Cost and Management Accountants.
• Assistant General Manager (Tissue Machine Production): heads tissue operations at the Unit-II Tissue Plant, Trichy.
• Deputy Manager (Tissue Machine Production): a middle-level production role at the same Unit-II Tissue Plant.

Post-wise Duties

General Manager (Paper)

You will plan, coordinate and run three paper machines along with the paper converting and finishing section. TNPL expects you to know QCS, DCS and automation systems of modern high-speed paper machines.

Deputy General Manager (Finance)

You will handle finance, costing and accounting, covering plant and management accounting, budgetary control, MIS, taxation, corporate and export finance, and funds management. Experience in an ERP setup with exposure to IFRS is preferred.

Assistant General Manager (Tissue Machine Production)

You will plan and run the Tissue Plant and its finishing section, coordinate shutdowns and scheduled maintenance, make sure monthly production plans are met, and keep process parameters and chemical dosing under control.

Deputy Manager (Tissue Machine Production)

You will support day-to-day tissue machine operations, work with other departments on maintenance planning, and follow up with the Purchase Department so that spare parts arrive on time.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Reservation: All four posts are marked GT (General Turn), with higher upper age limits printed for BC/BCM/MBC/DNC and SC/SCA/ST candidates.
• Minimum age: Each post also carries a minimum age, so very young candidates cannot apply even if they meet the experience rule.
• Relaxation in deserving cases: For the General Manager and DGM posts, TNPL may relax age and experience by up to two years.
• Finance experience: For the DGM (Finance) post, experience counts only after you qualify as a CA or CMA.
• Tissue plant experience: The two tissue posts want experience in a high-speed Crescent former tissue plant using virgin pulp, including facial, napkin, kitchen towel and toilet grades.
• Proof is checked: A bio-data without enough documentary proof will be rejected outright.
