Punjab Public Service Commission PCS Register-C Recruitment 2026 - 5 Posts

Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC) has notified Advt. No. 20264 for selection to the Punjab Civil Services (Executive Branch) from Register-C. This route is for serving Punjab Government employees who meet the Register-C service conditions and are not being considered through the other listed registers. The merit process combines a screening test, service length, ACR/APAR record and interview, so the final score is not based on the written paper alone.

Who Can Apply?

Service and Qualification

• Education: You must be a graduate from a recognised university.
• Current service: You should be a confirmed Punjab Government employee with 8 years continuous service.
• Service group: The Register-C route is for eligible Group A or Group B Punjab Government employees as described in the PPSC notice.
• Language/document proof: You should have proof for Punjabi language up to matriculation standard, or the equivalent proof accepted in the advertisement.

Important Register Condition

• Register route: Register-C is a separate route from Register A-I, A-II and A-III. Check the PPSC notice and your department's service record before applying.
• Department forwarding: Your printed form and records must be routed through the Head of Department for hard-copy submission.

Service-record caution: Register-C is a serving-employee route, so your online form should match your department service record, current group, length of service and ACR/APAR documents. Application Fee

Selection Process

PPSC will use a screening test followed by service-record and interview components for Register-C. The screening test is tentatively planned in September/October 2026, and PPSC will announce the exact schedule separately.

1. Screening Test - 50 marks: 100 objective questions for 100 marks, converted to 50 marks in the final assessment. You need at least 30% marks.
2. Length of Service - 15 marks: Service marks are calculated from qualifying service details.
3. ACR/APAR Record - 20 marks: Your annual service record is assessed as a major merit component.
4. Interview - 15 marks: PPSC interviews shortlisted applicants after the screening and record checks.
5. Document Verification: Education, service, Punjabi language proof, fee/category documents and hard-copy forwarding are checked.

Screening test pattern: The paper has 100 MCQs for 100 marks, with 2 hours allowed. Questions are at graduation level and cover Civics, Constitution of India, Indian History, Geography, General Science, Punjabi, English, History of Punjab and General Knowledge. There is 0.25 negative marking for each wrong answer.

Final merit weightage: The screening test carries 50 marks in the final assessment. PPSC also gives 15 marks to length of service, 20 marks to ACR/APAR record and 15 marks to interview.

How to Apply

3. Fill the online form with personal, service, education, language and category details.
4. Pay the applicable online fee and submit the form before 30 June 2026.
5. Print the submitted form and attach self-attested copies of required certificates and service records.
6. Send the hard copy through your Head of Department so that PPSC receives it by 30 July 2026.

Hard copy matters: Online submission is only the first part. Your printed form, self-attested certificates and service papers must be forwarded through the Head of Department and reach PPSC by 30 July 2026.

Keep proof ready: Keep graduation certificate, Punjabi language proof, category certificate if applicable, fee receipt, service certificate, ACR/APAR documents and department forwarding letter ready before the online deadline.
