Punjab National Bank (PNB) is hiring 30 Specialist Officers (Engineers) in Civil, Electrical, and Mechanical disciplines under Junior Management Grade Scale I (JMGS-I). Punjab National Bank (PNB), one of India's oldest and largest public sector banks, has released notification for 30 Specialist Officer posts in engineering disciplines for the Human Resource Plan (HRP) 2026-27. The posts cover three streams — Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering — with Civil Engineering having the highest number of openings at 21 posts. These are permanent officer-level positions under JMGS-I, carrying attractive banking-sector pay and benefits. Engineers with a relevant degree and at least one year of hands-on experience are eligible to apply.

Who Can Apply?
Educational Qualification
- Civil Engineer: B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering from a recognised university with a minimum 60% marks, or an equivalent qualification recognised by the Government of India.
- Electrical Engineer: B.E./B.Tech in Electrical Engineering from a recognised university with a minimum 60% marks, or an equivalent qualification.
- Mechanical Engineer: B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from a recognised university with a minimum 60% marks, or an equivalent qualification.
Work Experience (Mandatory)
- You must have at least 1 year of post-qualification work experience in the relevant engineering field (Civil / Electrical / Mechanical) as on the closing date of registration (5 May 2026).
- For Civil Engineers: experience in Construction / Renovation / Retrofitting / Interior Furnishing / Maintenance works of commercial, residential, institutional, or industrial buildings is counted.
- For Electrical and Mechanical Engineers: experience in installation, handling, and maintenance of electro-mechanical equipment (UPS, Generators, Control Panels, HT-LT, Switch Gears, Cabling, Water Pumps, Air Conditioning, Lifts, etc.) is also accepted.
Other Requirements
- Your degree result must have been declared on or before 5 May 2026.
- You must indicate your graduation percentage up to the nearest two decimals. Note: 59.99% is treated as less than 60%.
- You must be willing to serve at any location in India as per the Bank's requirement.
- A minimum CIBIL score of 681 is required at the time of joining (not a pre-condition to apply).
Age Limit
- You should be between 20 and 30 years old as on 1 January 2026.

Salary
- Basic pay starts at Rs. 48,480 per month under the JMGS-I pay scale.
- Pay scale progression: Rs. 48,480 – 2,000/7 – 62,480 – 2,340/2 – 67,160 – 2,680/7 – 85,920
- You will also get Dearness Allowance (DA), City Compensatory Allowance (CCA), House Rent Allowance (HRA) or leased accommodation as applicable.
- Other benefits include Leave Fare Concession, Medical Insurance, Retirement Benefits and other perquisites as per Bank rules.
- Gross monthly take-home (including allowances) is approximately Rs. 78,000 to Rs. 90,000+ depending on the posting city and DA rates.

Selection Process
Selection follows one of two scenarios depending on the number of applications received:
- Online Written Test + Personal Interview (Scenario 1):
- Part I — Aptitude: Reasoning (25Q, 25M) + English Language (25Q, 25M) + Quantitative Aptitude (50Q, 50M) — total 120 minutes
- Part II — Professional Knowledge: 50 questions for 100 marks (evaluated only after qualifying all Part I tests)
- Negative marking: 1/4 mark deducted per wrong answer
- Candidates are shortlisted for interview based on Part II (Professional Knowledge) scores
- Personal Interview: 50 marks — minimum qualifying marks decided by the Bank
- Final selection based on aggregate of Part II score + Interview score
- Shortlisting + Personal Interview Only (Scenario 2):
- If the Bank decides not to conduct a written test, it directly shortlists candidates based on applications
- Personal Interview: 50 marks — final selection based on interview score alone

Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare estimates, and oversee execution of construction, renovation, retrofitting, and interior furnishing works for Bank buildings
- Maintain Bank premises and manage Annual Maintenance Contracts (AMCs) for electro-mechanical equipment
- Procure goods, works, and services required for completing engineering jobs as per Bank guidelines
- Empanel and appoint qualified architects, contractors, and agencies for Bank projects
- Supervise construction and maintenance sites to ensure timely completion and quality control
- Scrutinize and process bills submitted by architects, contractors, and agencies
- Report project progress and compliance to the Chief Technical Examiner (CTE) / Central Vigilance Commission (CVC)
- Implement energy-saving measures and green initiatives such as solar plant installation and green building standards

Exam Pattern
If PNB conducts the Online Written Test, you will have 120 minutes to attempt 150 questions for a total of 200 marks.
Part I — Aptitude Test

Part II — Professional Knowledge
