About This Job

Odisha University of Health Sciences (OUHS), Bhubaneswar is hiring 10 contractual posts — Director, Deputy Director, Deputy Registrar and Deputy Controller of Examination. This is a special drive only for retired Government Doctors from the OMES and AYUSH cadres in Odisha. The pay goes up to Rs. 2,30,000 per month depending on the post and cadre. Odisha University of Health Sciences (OUHS), Bhubaneswar has released an advertisement (Notice No. 5676) to engage retired doctors on a contractual basis across five different administrative and academic roles. These posts are open only to retired Government Doctors from OMES (Odisha Medical Education Service) or AYUSH cadres who served in the rank of Professor or Assistant Professor in Odisha. The engagement runs until the posts are filled by regular deputation or open advertisement, for a maximum of four years.

Who Can Apply?

This is a special recruitment only for retired Government Doctors from the OMES or AYUSH cadres of Odisha. Serving candidates and private candidates cannot apply.

Director, Research & Development (OMES, Professor rank)

  • You must have worked as a Professor with at least 10 years of teaching experience and a strong academic record in a Government Medical College that offers Post Graduate courses.
  • Candidates with research paper publications get preference.

Deputy Director, Curriculum (OMES, Assistant Professor rank)

  • You must be a retired doctor from the OMES cadre who served in the rank of Assistant Professor.
  • Candidates with research experience get preference.

Deputy Registrar, Deputy Controller of Examination & Deputy Director (College Development & Student Welfare)

  • You must be a retired doctor from the OMES or AYUSH cadre who served in the rank of Assistant Professor.
  • Eligibility is fixed as per Odisha Government Notification No. 26993/Gen dated 12.09.2024.

Other Requirement

  • You should have basic knowledge of computers.

Age Limit

  • OMES cadre: You must be less than 69 years old at the time of applying. The engagement continues up to a maximum age of 70 years.
  • AYUSH cadre: The engagement continues up to a maximum age of 65 years.
  • There is no further age relaxation for any category.

Salary

  • OMES — Professor rank: Rs. 2,30,000 per month with a 5% hike every year.
  • OMES — Assistant Professor rank: Rs. 1,20,000 per month with a 5% hike every year.
  • AYUSH — Professor: Rs. 1,00,000 per month
  • AYUSH — Reader: Rs. 80,000 per month
  • AYUSH — Lecturer: Rs. 70,000 per month

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

There is no written exam. Selection is based on:

  1. Scrutiny of Applications: The university shortlists candidates based on eligibility and experience.
  2. Personal Interview: Shortlisted candidates appear before a Selection Committee. The interview schedule will be informed later. No TA/DA is paid.
  3. Document Verification: You must bring all original documents along with one set of self-attested photocopies at the time of interview.

Responsibilities

  • Lead research, development, and academic planning work assigned to the role at the university
  • Manage curriculum, examination, or registration duties depending on the post you hold
  • Guide college development and student welfare activities when posted to that role
  • Support the Registrar and university authorities in day-to-day administration
  • Maintain accurate academic and examination records
  • Follow the conduct rules and regulations applicable to Government employees
  • Coordinate with affiliated medical colleges on academic matters
