Who Can Apply?

Junior Technician Posts

• Education: Class 10 pass from a government recognised board.
• Trade certificate: Relevant trade certificate from NCVT or SCVT is required for Electronics Mechanic, Fitter, Instrument Mechanic or Surveyor posts.
• Apprentice note: Relevant OIL trade apprentice candidates may get age relaxation as stated in the notification.

Junior Office Assistant

• Education: 10+2 in any stream from a government recognised board or university.
• Computer certificate: Diploma or certificate in Computer Application of minimum 6 months duration.
• Computer knowledge: Candidates should be fully conversant with MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint.

Junior Engineer (Electrical)

• Education: Class 10 pass plus 3-year Diploma in Electrical Engineering from a government recognised university, board or institute.
• Certificate: Valid Electrical Supervisor's Certificate of Competency, minimum parts 1, 2, 3 and 4, issued by Electrical Licensing Board, Government of Assam.
• Apprentice note: Relevant OIL diploma apprentice candidates may get age relaxation as stated in the notification.

Age Limit

• General: 18 to 40 years
• OBC (NCL): 18 to 43 years
• SC/ST: 18 to 45 years
• Age date: age will be checked as on 08 June 2026.
• Other relaxation: PwBD relaxation is included in the stated limits. Ex-servicemen, internal OIL employees, eligible work contract labourers and relevant apprentices get relaxation as per the notification and applicable rules.

Salary

• Grade III pay scale: Rs. 26,600 to Rs. 90,000
• Grade VII pay scale: Rs. 37,500 to Rs. 1,45,000
• Grade III posts: Junior Technician and Junior Office Assistant
• Grade VII post: Junior Engineer (Electrical)

Application Fee

• Application fee: Candidates are exempted from payment of online application fee as stated in the notification.

Selection Process

1. Online Application: candidates submit the online application form through OIL's official recruitment link.
2. Computer Based Test: eligible candidates will be called for a CBT of 100 marks.
3. Document Verification: candidates will be shortlisted in merit order for document verification in the ratio mentioned in the notification.
4. Medical Fitness: provisionally selected candidates must clear pre-employment medical fitness requirements.
5. Final Appointment: appointment is subject to eligibility, documents, medical fitness and other formalities.

Exam Pattern

• Total marks: 100
• Part A: General English, General Knowledge/Awareness and questions on Oil India Limited - 20 marks
• Part B: Reasoning, Arithmetic/Numerical and Mental Ability - 20 marks
• Part C: Domain or relevant technical knowledge - 60 marks
• Duration: 2 hours 40 minutes including compensatory time
• Negative marking: No negative marking
• Language: English and Assamese
• Qualifying marks: 40 marks

• For Junior Engineer (Electrical), support electrical maintenance, supervision, inspection and compliance work as per competency certificate scope.
• Work in shifts and field conditions when required by production and exploration operations.
• Maintain safety, quality, records and reporting standards as per OIL procedures.
