Odisha Adarsha Vidyalaya Sangathan (OAVS) runs CBSE-affiliated schools across all 314 block headquarters in Odisha. OAV Keshrajpur, located in Boden Block, Nuapada District, has issued Letter No. 233/OAVK/2026 dated 02.04.2026 inviting applications from eligible male candidates belonging to Nuapada District for hostel support positions. Preference will be given to candidates from Boden Block.

Who Can Apply?

General Requirements

• Only male candidates can apply for these positions (Boys' Hostel).
• You must be a resident of Nuapada District. Candidates from other districts are not eligible.
• Preference will be given to candidates from Boden Block.
• You must be physically and mentally fit for duty.
• Experience in hostel management, cooking, or security duty will be preferred.

Warden

• Qualification: B.A. or B.Sc. from any recognized university.
• Experience: At least 2 years in hostel management.
• You must be willing to stay in the hostel 24x7.
• Retired teachers who are physically and mentally fit (age limit 62 years) may also apply.

Head Cook

• Must stay in the hostel 24x7.
• Training in cookery will be given preference.
• Must maintain hygienic cooking practices and know how to use LPG.

Assistant Cook

• Must stay in the hostel 24x7.
• Experience in cooking will be preferred.

Chowkidar-cum-Sweeper

• Qualification: Must have passed HSC Examination (10+2).

Age Limit

• Warden: 30 to 60 years (retired teachers up to 62 years)
• Head Cook: 30 to 40 years
• Assistant Cook: 21 to 32 years
• Chowkidar-cum-Sweeper: 21 to 32 years
• Age as on: 23 February 2026

Salary

• Warden: Rs. 21,175 per month (including EPF share)
• Head Cook: Rs. 9,000 per month (including EPF share)
• Assistant Cook: Rs. 6,750 per month (including EPF share)
• Chowkidar-cum-Sweeper: Rs. 7,500 per month (including EPF share)

All salary amounts mentioned above are inclusive of EPF contributions from both the employee and employer side.

Selection Process

1. Application Screening: Your application and documents will be checked for completeness and eligibility.
2. Committee Interview: A selection committee will evaluate candidates. The committee is headed by the Collector & District Magistrate (Chairman) and includes the Principal of OAV (Convener), District Education Officer, and District Welfare Officer.
3. Practical Test (for Cooks): The committee may conduct physical cooking tests to evaluate cooking skills, hygiene, taste, and time management.
4. Document Verification: Selected candidates must produce original certificates and documents for verification.

No written exam is required for these posts. Selection is based on merit, experience, and committee evaluation.

• Handle day-to-day supervision and management of the boys' hostel, ensuring a safe and disciplined environment for students.
• Prepare nutritious and hygienic meals for hostel students according to the prescribed menu and schedule.
• Assist the Head Cook in food preparation, kitchen cleaning, and maintaining hygiene standards in the cooking area.
• Keep the hostel premises clean, including dormitories, common areas, washrooms, and surrounding campus.
• Monitor entry and exit of visitors and maintain security of the hostel during day and night hours.
• Follow all guidelines issued by the Principal and OAVS administration regarding hostel operations.
• Manage inventory of kitchen supplies, cleaning materials, and report shortages to the Principal promptly.
