Odisha Adarsha Vidyalaya (OAV) Balidhipa at Jharbandh, Bargarh has invited applications to engage 5 hostel support staff for the smooth running of its girls' hostel. This covers four roles — Warden, Chowkidar-cum-Sweeper, Head Cook, and Assistant Cook. Local candidates from the block area are preferred. These are engagement (contract) posts and selection is based on qualification, experience, and a practical test for the cook posts.

Who Can Apply?

Warden (Rs. 25,621.75/month)

• You must have a B.A or B.Sc degree from any recognised University.
• You need at least 2 years of experience in hostel management.
• Preference is given to local candidates, preferably from the block area. Retired lady teachers up to 62 years and in-service lady teachers of OAV may also be considered.

Chowkidar-cum-Sweeper (Rs. 9,075/month)

• You must have passed the HSC (10th) Examination.

Head Cook (Rs. 10,890/month)

• You should know cooking well and be able to use LPG. Training in cookery is preferred.
• A practical cooking test will be conducted to judge taste, hygiene, and speed.

Assistant Cook (Rs. 8,167.50/month)

• You should have experience in cooking and good hygiene habits.

Age Limit

• Warden: 30 to 60 years (as on the date of advertisement)
• Chowkidar-cum-Sweeper: 21 to 32 years
• Head Cook: 30 to 40 years
• Assistant Cook: 21 to 32 years
• Retired lady teachers may be engaged as Warden up to the age of 62 years.

Salary

• Warden: Rs. 25,621.75 per month
• Head Cook: Rs. 10,890 per month
• Chowkidar-cum-Sweeper: Rs. 9,075 per month
• Assistant Cook: Rs. 8,167.50 per month
• In-service lady teachers taking on Warden duties get an extra Rs. 3,000 per month over their own salary.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

Selection is based on:

1. Qualification and Experience: Your education, age, and relevant experience are checked against the requirements for the post.
2. Local Preference: Local candidates, preferably from the block area, are given preference for the Warden post.
3. Practical Cooking Test: For the Head Cook and Assistant Cook posts, a committee will judge the taste, hygiene, and preparation time of your cooking.

• Manage the day-to-day running of the girls' hostel and keep it safe and clean
• Supervise hostel residents and stay in the hostel including night hours (Warden)

• Prepare hygienic and tasty meals for the hostel residents (Cook)
• Handle kitchen work, use LPG safely, and keep the kitchen clean (Cook)
• Maintain hostel records and report problems to the Principal
• Follow all hostel rules and Odisha Adarsha Vidyalaya guidelines
