The Nagaland Public Service Commission (NPSC) has released Advertisement NPSC/ADVT-1/04 for the Combined Technical Services Examination (CTSE) 2026 to fill 172 posts in various departments of the Government of Nagaland. Who Can Apply?

The qualification depends on the post you choose. Here are the common requirements:

• Junior Engineer: 3-year Diploma in the relevant Engineering branch from an AICTE-recognised institute
• SDO: Bachelor's Degree in the relevant Engineering branch (or Agriculture for the Agriculture post)
• Veterinary Assistant Surgeon: B.V.Sc. & A.H. degree
• Regimental Medical Officer: MBBS degree
• Pharmacist: Diploma or Degree in Pharmacy
• Economics & Statistics Officer: Master's Degree in Economics or Statistics
• Food Safety Officer / Scientific Assistant: Degree in the relevant Science or Technology subject
• Assistant Public Prosecutor: Bachelor's Degree in Law (LLB)

Domicile: These posts are for candidates of Nagaland, and many items are reserved for indigenous inhabitants and specific tribes. Read the notification carefully before you apply.

Age Limit

• You should be between 21 and 32 years old as on 1 January 2026.
• Age Relaxation: The upper age limit is relaxed by 5 years for SC/ST candidates.
• Government Employees: Get age relaxation equal to their years of service, up to a maximum of 5 years.

Salary

• Each post carries a different pay as per its level in the Nagaland State pay matrix. Gazetted posts like SDO, ACF and Veterinary Assistant Surgeon are paid at higher levels than non-gazetted posts like Junior Engineer and Pharmacist.

Selection Process

The selection is done in the following stages:

1. Written Examination: General Knowledge & General English (100 marks, 3 hours), Technical Paper-I (200 marks) and Technical Paper-II (200 marks) — a total of 500 marks.
2. Interview / Viva-Voce: Shortlisted candidates are called for a personal interview.
3. Physical Test: For field posts such as Assistant Conservator of Forests, a walking test is held — 25 km in 4 hours for men and 16 km in 4 hours for women.
