Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited (NPCIL) is hiring 330 Executive Trainees across 6 engineering disciplines — Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, and Civil. You need a valid GATE 2024, 2025, or 2026 score to apply. During training, you get a monthly stipend of Rs. 74,000 plus a one-time book allowance of Rs. 30,000. NPCIL Executive Trainee Recruitment 2026 — 330 Posts
NPCIL, a Government of India Enterprise under the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE), is responsible for generating electricity from nuclear power across India. This is a great opportunity for B.E./B.Tech graduates who have qualified GATE to join India's premier nuclear power organization. The advertisement number is NPCIL/HQ/ET/2026/02, and NPCIL is looking to fill 314 current vacancies and 16 backlog vacancies across multiple engineering streams.

- Qualification: B.E./B.Tech or equivalent (5-year integrated course) from an AICTE/UGC-recognized university or institution with minimum 60% marks (or equivalent CGPA as per your university's rules)
- GATE Score: You must have a valid GATE score in GATE 2024, GATE 2025, or GATE 2026 in the same discipline as your engineering degree. GATE 2023 or earlier scores are not accepted

Salary
During Training (1 Year)
- Monthly Stipend: Rs. 74,000

- Compulsory accommodation and food provided by NPCIL in hostels
After Training — Scientific Officer/C (Group A)
- Pay Level: Level 10 under 7th CPC
- Basic Pay: Rs. 56,100
- DA: 58% of Basic Pay (as on 01.07.2025)
- Total Stipend + Bond: Rs. 9,18,000 bond value (you need to serve NPCIL for at least 3 years after training)
- Allowances: Transport Allowance, HRA/Accommodation, Site Location Allowance, Professional Update Allowance (annual), Leave Travel Allowance, Mobile Phone Allowance, Newspaper Allowance, Cable TV Allowance

Selection Process
- GATE Score Shortlisting: Candidates are shortlisted in 1:12 ratio (12 candidates per vacancy) based on valid GATE 2024/2025/2026 scores. All three years' GATE scores are given equal weightage. If the cut-off score has more than 1 candidate with the same marks, all such candidates are called for interview
- Personal Interview: Shortlisted candidates appear for a personal interview. The interview is expected to be held from 8 June to 19 June 2026 at venues in Mumbai (Maharashtra), Narora (Uttar Pradesh), Madras (Tamil Nadu), and Kaiga (Karnataka). Interview can be taken in Hindi or English
- Medical Examination: Selected candidates must be declared medically fit by NPCIL's authorized Medical Officer
- Probation: After successfully completing training, candidates are appointed as Scientific Officer/C on 1 year probation
Interview qualifying marks: UR — 70%, EWS/SC/ST/OBC/PwBD — 60%. GATE score is not given any weightage in the final selection — only interview performance matters.

Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor nuclear reactor systems, ensuring safe and efficient power generation at NPCIL plant sites
- Assist in commissioning, testing, and maintenance of nuclear power plant equipment and systems
- Follow strict safety protocols and regulatory guidelines set by the Atomic Energy Regulatory Board (AERB)
- Prepare technical reports, logs, and documentation related to plant operations and maintenance activities
- Work with cross-functional teams on design, engineering, and quality assurance projects for nuclear power stations
- Handle R&D activities related to reactor technology, process improvement, and engineering innovation
- Monitor and ensure compliance with environmental and radiation safety standards at all times

Exam Pattern
There is no written exam conducted by NPCIL for Executive Trainee recruitment. Selection is based entirely on your GATE score and personal interview performance.
Stage 1: GATE Score Shortlisting
- Candidates are shortlisted in 1:12 ratio (12 candidates per vacancy) based on GATE 2024/2025/2026 scores
- GATE scores from all 3 years (2024, 2025, 2026) are given equal weightage
- If there are multiple candidates at the cut-off score, all are called for interview
- PwBD candidates are shortlisted separately from a merit list prepared on GATE scores
Stage 2: Personal Interview
- Interview is the only deciding factor — GATE score has no weightage in final selection
