NSI Kanpur Foreman (Electrical) Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

National Sugar Institute (NSI) Kanpur, an ISO 9001:2015 certified institute under the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution, Government of India, has issued a vacancy circular for 1 post of Foreman (Electrical) to be filled on deputation including short-term contract. The post is a Group B, Non-Gazetted, Non-Ministerial post. Only existing government employees who meet the deputation eligibility criteria can apply through proper channel — direct applications are not accepted.

Who Can Apply?

This post is only open to officers already serving in Central Government, State Governments, Union Territory administrations, Public Sector Undertakings, Universities, recognised research institutions, semi-government bodies, or autonomous organisations.

Service Eligibility (any one of the following)

• Option (i): Holding an analogous post on regular basis in the parent cadre or department
• Option (ii): At least 6 years of service in posts at Level-5 (Rs. 29,200-92,300) or equivalent in the parent cadre or department
• Option (iii): At least 10 years of service in posts at Level-4 (Rs. 25,500-81,100) or equivalent in the parent cadre or department

Educational Qualification and Experience

• Qualification: 3-year Diploma in Electrical Engineering from a recognised Institute or Board
• Experience: 2 years of experience in a factory or workshop of a Government organisation

Note: Officers in the direct line of promotion are not eligible for consideration on deputation. Similarly, those already on deputation are not eligible for consideration by promotion.

Age Limit

• Maximum age: 56 years as on the closing date of receipt of applications (11 June 2026)
• The deputation period will ordinarily not exceed 3 years (including any prior deputation period in the same or another ex-cadre post)

Salary

• Pay Matrix: Level-6, Cell-1 — Rs. 35,400 to Rs. 1,12,400 per month (as per 7th Central Pay Commission)
• Plus DA, HRA, TA, and other allowances as per Central Government rules

Selection Process

Selection is done through review of applications forwarded through proper channel. There is no written exam.

1. Application Screening: Applications forwarded by the parent department/cadre controlling authority are reviewed for eligibility
2. Merit Review: Candidates are shortlisted based on service record, ACR/APARs (last 5 years), and suitability
3. Final Selection: Selected candidate will be informed through proper channel

Note: Only candidates who can be spared immediately will be considered. Applications without the required documents or received after the deadline will not be considered.

• Manage electrical systems, installations, and equipment at the institute

• Handle breakdown repairs and plan preventive maintenance activities
• Follow safety regulations and electrical standards in all work activities
• Assist in procurement of electrical materials and check quality of work done
