National Sugar Institute Statistical Assistant Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

The National Sugar Institute (NSI), Kalyanpur, Kanpur — an ISO 9001:2015 certified institute under the Government of India — is looking to fill one post of Statistical Assistant (Group B, Non-Gazetted, Non-Ministerial) on deputation including short-term contract. This post is open to serving employees of Central/State Government, Union Territories, autonomous organisations, PSUs, universities, and recognised research institutions. Only candidates who can be spared immediately and whose applications are routed through proper channel will be considered. Candidates who apply once will not be allowed to withdraw their candidature.

Who Can Apply?

Deputation Eligibility (Service Requirement)

You must be a serving employee of Central/State Government, Union Territories, autonomous or statutory organisations, Public Sector Undertakings, Universities, or recognised Research Institutions, and fulfil one of the following:

• Holding an analogous post on a regular basis in your parent cadre or department; OR
• Having 6 years of service in a grade rendered after regular appointment to Level-5 (Rs. 29,200-92,300/-) or equivalent in the parent cadre.

Educational Qualification & Experience

• Essential — Qualification: Bachelor's degree with Statistics as one of the subjects from a recognised University or Institute.
• Essential — Experience: Two years' experience of statistical work involving collection, compilation and interpretation of statistical data.
• Desirable: Master's degree in Mathematics, Economics, or Commerce (with Statistics as one of the subjects) from a recognised University or Institute.

Age Limit

• Maximum age: 56 years as on the last date of receipt of applications (11 June 2026).
• No minimum age is specified for deputation posts.

Salary

• Pay Matrix Level-6: Rs. 35,400 to Rs. 1,12,400 per month (7th Central Pay Commission).
• Plus Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), Transport Allowance (TA) and other allowances as per Central Government rules.
• The deputation period will ordinarily not exceed 3 years.

Selection Process

Selection is on a deputation basis — there is no written examination. Candidates are selected based on:

1. Screening of Bio-data: Applications sent through proper channel are screened for eligibility (service requirement, qualification and experience).
2. Document Verification: ACR/APARs for the last 5 years and employer certificate are verified.
3. Recommendation by Cadre Controlling Authority: The employing organisation forwards applications with cadre clearance and integrity certificate.

Applications not routed through proper channel will not be considered.

How to Apply

1. Prepare your Bio-data in duplicate (attach recent passport-size photograph).
2. Arrange attested photocopies of ACR/APARs for the last 5 years (each page attested by the concerned officer).
3. Get the Certificate from your Employer/Cadre Controlling Authority (proforma available on the NSI website at nsi.gov.in).
4. Submit the complete application through proper channel (your department/cadre controlling authority must forward it).
5. Send the application by post to: Senior Administrative Officer, National Sugar Institute, Kalyanpur, Kanpur-208017, Uttar Pradesh.
6. Applications must reach NSI before 11 June 2026.
