National Institute of Technology Warangal (NIT Warangal) has released a notification for 1 Junior Research Fellow post under the Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF) Prime Minister Early Career Research Grant (PMECRG) funded project titled "PRISM: Performance-aware Resource Interference Study and Mitigation for Virtual Network Functions on Heterogeneous Accelerators". NIT Warangal is an Institute of National Importance under the Ministry of Education, and the PMECRG scheme backs early-career researchers working on cutting-edge national research problems. The position is based in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering and runs for 2 years and 10 months, giving you enough time to build real research output in computer networking and systems. The selected candidate can also register for a Ph.D. at NIT Warangal as per institute rules — though you will need to apply separately when the official Ph.D. admission notification is released — which makes this a strong launchpad if you want to build a research career. The post is purely temporary and tied to the duration of the sponsored project, and your continuation each year will depend on a successful performance assessment.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification (Path 1): B.Tech/B.E. (or equivalent) in Computer Science Engineering (CSE), Information Technology (IT), Artificial Intelligence (AI) or Electronics and Communication Engineering, along with an M.Tech/M.E. (or equivalent) in Computer Science Engineering.
• Qualification (Path 2): Only a B.Tech/B.E. (or equivalent) in Computer Science Engineering (CSE), Information Technology (IT) or Artificial Intelligence (AI) is also accepted.
• Marks required: Minimum 60% aggregate marks or 6.5 CGPA at both UG and PG level for General/EWS/OBC-NCL candidates, and minimum 55% or 6.0 CGPA for SC/ST/PwD candidates.
• Alternate marks route: If you hold only a Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Technology, you need at least 7.5 CGPA or 70% marks (General/EWS/OBC-NCL) or 7.0 CGPA or 65% marks (SC/ST/PwD).
• Preferred skills: Strong programming skills in C/C++, familiarity with Linux kernel networking (or willingness to learn), and prior research experience in networking, systems or high-performance computing.
• Job Nature: This is a full-time Research and Development (R&D) role — you will work in the lab on experiments, coding and data analysis as part of the sponsored project, not a classroom teaching post.

Age Limit

• You should be up to 30 years old to apply for this JRF post.
• Age Relaxation: The upper age limit is relaxable by up to 5 years for SC/ST/OBC candidates, women, and persons with disabilities.

Salary

• If you qualify through CSIR-UGC NET or GATE, you will get Rs. 37,000 + 20% HRA = Rs. 44,400 per month for the first two years, rising to Rs. 42,000 + 20% HRA = Rs. 50,400 per month in the third year after your assessment and upgradation to Senior Research Fellow (SRF).
• If you do not hold a NET/GATE score, you will get Rs. 30,000 + 20% HRA = Rs. 36,000 per month for the first two years, rising to Rs. 33,000 + 20% HRA = Rs. 39,600 per month in the third year.
• HRA is provided as per institute rules, and you may also get on-campus hostel and mess facilities, subject to availability.

Selection Process

The selection will be done in 2 stages:

1. Screening of Applications: Your CV, certificates and mark sheets will be checked against the eligibility criteria listed above.
2. Interview: Only shortlisted candidates will be informed by email and called for an interview, which may be conducted online.

Your final selection depends on how well your academic record, GATE/NET score and research background match the needs of the PRISM project, along with your performance in the interview. There is no written exam for this position.
