National Institute of Technology Warangal (NIT Warangal), an Institute of National Importance under the Ministry of Education, Government of India, has released a notification for 1 Junior Research Fellow post under an Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF) sponsored project titled "Development of PV-Battery Powered Quasi Z-Source Inverter Fed Five-Phase Interior-Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor Drive for Hybrid Electric Vehicle". The work involves simulation and hardware-based study of power converter systems for hybrid electric vehicles. The selected candidate also gets the option to register for a PhD at NIT Warangal while working on this project, making it attractive for candidates who want to combine paid research work with a doctoral degree.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: You must have First Class with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks or a CGPA of at least 6.5 on a 10-point scale in both your B.Tech/BE in Electrical Engineering (or Electrical and Electronics Engineering) and your M.Tech/ME in Power Electronics, Power Electronics and Drives, Electric Vehicle, Electric Transportation, or a closely related specialization.
• Mandatory: You must have a valid GATE qualification.
• Desirable: Hands-on experience in the hardware/control design of power converters, familiarity with MATLAB, PLECS, PSIM, PCB design software and DSP/FPGA controllers, and good analytical and report-writing skills will strengthen your application.

Age Limit

• The upper age limit for this post is 30 years.
• Age Relaxation: As per the norms and guidelines of the Institute for candidates from reserved categories.

Salary

• You will get Rs. 37,000 per month for the first two years and Rs. 42,000 per month in the third year of the project.
• HRA (House Rent Allowance) will be paid as per Institute rules, on top of your monthly emoluments.
• The project runs for 3 years, and this is a purely temporary position tied to the project's duration.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

There is no written exam for this post. Selection happens in two stages:

1. Shortlisting: The project team screens all applications and may apply a higher cut-off for shortlisting based on the number of applications received.
2. Interview: Shortlisted candidates are called for an interview in offline mode only at NIT Warangal. No TA/DA is paid for attending the interview.

The list of eligible/shortlisted candidates will be announced on the institute website, and candidates will also be intimated via email or phone.

• Carry out simulation and hardware-based studies on the PV-battery powered quasi Z-source inverter drive system
• Design and test power converter circuits and control algorithms
• Run experiments using MATLAB, PLECS, PSIM and DSP/FPGA controllers
• Support hardware prototyping and PCB design work for the project
• Record and analyze experimental data and prepare technical reports
• Assist the Principal Investigator with project documentation and progress reporting
• Present findings at project review meetings and contribute to research publications
