National Institute of Technology Tiruchirappalli (NIT Trichy) Project Assistant Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

NIT Trichy has opened 1 Project Assistant post under the research project titled "Efficient Provenance Log Collector for Linux Systems". The project is funded by the Centre for Artificial Intelligence and Robotics (CAIR), DRDO, Bangalore and is guided by Principal Investigator Dr. C. Mala. This is a purely temporary, research-oriented role that is ideal if you have a strong computer science background and want hands-on research experience at one of India's top NITs. The position is initially for 6 months and can be extended up to 24 months based on your performance and the project needs.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: You must have an M.E. / M.Tech degree in Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), Information Technology (IT), or Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE).
• Nationality: Only Indian nationals can apply.
• Skills that help: Since this is a research post on Linux system provenance logging, a good grasp of systems programming, Linux, and data handling will work in your favour.
• Experience: Research, industrial, or other relevant experience is counted in your favour but is not compulsory. A GATE/NET score, if you have one, can be mentioned in the form.

Age Limit

• Your age should not be more than 35 years.
• Age Relaxation: Relaxation in the upper age limit is given as per institute norms.

Salary

• You will get a fixed salary of Rs. 25,000 per month (consolidated).
• This is a consolidated pay, so separate allowances like DA or HRA are not added on top.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

There is no written exam. Selection is based on an interview:

1. Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be interviewed at the CSE Department, NIT Trichy, on 22 July 2026 (tentative).
2. Document Verification: You must bring all your original certificates to the interview for verification.

Please note: No TA/DA (travel allowance) is paid for attending the interview.
