National Institute of Technology Raipur (NIT Raipur), an Institute of National Importance, has released a notification (Adv. No. NITRR/IT/2026/16135) for 3 project positions under a Sponsored R&D Project funded by IBITF, DST, Government of India. The project is titled "AI-Driven Groundwater Iron Safety Framework for Tribal Mining Communities of Chhattisgarh". The work is split between NIT Raipur and GEC Jagdalpur. Selection is through walk-in interview only — no written exam. Freshers with strong AI and programming skills are encouraged to apply.

Vacancy Breakdown

• Junior Research Fellow (JRF): 2 posts (1 at GEC Jagdalpur, 1 at NIT Raipur)
• Software Developer: 1 post (at NIT Raipur)

Project Duration: 18 months (initially 6 months, extendable by 1 year based on performance and fund availability)

Who Can Apply?

For Junior Research Fellow (JRF):

• Qualification: B.E./B.Tech AND M.E./M.Tech in Computer Science & Engineering, Information Technology, Electronics, Electrical, AI, Data Science, Applied Geology, Civil or Mining (or equivalent) with minimum 60% marks or 6.5 CGPA in M.E./M.Tech/MCA
• OR B.E./B.Tech from an Institute of National Importance with minimum 80% marks or 8.5 CGPA
• Desirable: GATE/NET qualified (including Lectureship). Sound knowledge in AI, Deep Learning, Python/R or other programming

For Software Developer:

• Qualification: B.E./B.Tech in Computer Science & Engineering, Information Technology, Electronics, AI, Data Science or MCA (or equivalent) with minimum 60% marks or 6.5 CGPA
• Desirable: Sound knowledge in AI, Deep Learning, Python/R or other programming languages

Salary

• Junior Research Fellow (JRF): Rs. 37,000 per month + 20% HRA
• Software Developer: Rs. 50,000 per month (Fixed, no extra allowances)
• No travelling allowance is given for attending the interview

Selection Process (Walk-in Interview)

Selection is based on a single-stage walk-in interview — there is no written exam.
