NIFTEM Assistant Professor Recruitment 2026: Overview

National Institute of Food Technology Entrepreneurship and Management (NIFTEM), Kundli — an Institute of National Importance under the Ministry of Food Processing Industries — is hiring an Assistant Professor on a contract basis for its Department of Postharvest Technology, Bioprocessing and Environmental Sciences (PHTBES). This is a single teaching opening, open only to Indian nationals. Service Conditions and Caveats

• Tenure: The job is purely contractual for one year at first, and can be extended depending on the institute's needs.
• Shortlisting: Meeting the minimum qualification does not guarantee an interview call. NIFTEM shortlists largely on the UGC Appendix-II Table-3(A) pattern and gives weight to relevant experience.
• Plagiarism undertaking: You must declare that your publications are free from plagiarism; any plagiarism found later cancels your candidature or selection.
• Foreign degrees: A Ph.D. or M.Phil. from a foreign university goes to a Standing Committee to decide equivalence, as per the UGC letter of 21 September 2016.
• Eligibility cut-off: Qualifications, experience and publications are counted only up to the last date for applications.
• No changes later: You cannot switch position or add new information to your form after the last date.
