NIA DEO and LDC Recruitment 2026 — Overview
The National Investigation Agency (NIA), under the Ministry of Home Affairs, has invited applications for 40 posts of Data Entry Operator (DEO) and Lower Division Clerk (LDC) on a deputation basis. Post Details and Vacancies
- Data Entry Operator (DEO): 35 posts — Pay Level 5, Rs. 29,200 – 92,300
- Lower Division Clerk (LDC): 5 posts — Pay Level 2, Rs. 19,900 – 63,200
- Total Vacancies: 40
Posting will be at NIA offices located anywhere in India.
Salary and Pay Scale
- DEO: Rs. 29,200 – 92,300 (Pay Level 5, 7th CPC Pay Matrix)
- LDC: Rs. 19,900 – 63,200 (Pay Level 2, 7th CPC Pay Matrix)
- Special Security Allowance: 20% of basic pay (in addition to normal Central Government allowances)
- Other allowances like DA, HRA, and TA apply as per Central Government rules
Who Can Apply — Eligibility
This recruitment is open only to serving employees of Central Government, State Government, Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs), or Autonomous Bodies. Direct applications from individuals are not accepted.
For Data Entry Operator (DEO)
- Must be holding an analogous post on regular basis in the parent department
- Must have a valid O Level or A Level IT certificate recognized by NIELIT (formerly DOEACC)
For Lower Division Clerk (LDC)
- Must have passed 12th class (any stream) from a recognized board
- Must be holding an analogous post on regular basis in the parent department
Age Limit
- Maximum age: 56 years as on 06 April 2026
Selection Process
There is no written exam for this recruitment. Selection will be based on merit, assessed through the following documents:
- Annual Performance Appraisal Reports (APARs) for the last 5 years
- Biodata in the prescribed Annexure-II format
- Vigilance Clearance Certificate
- Integrity Certificate
- Details of any major or minor penalties imposed during the last 10 years
A Departmental Selection Committee will screen all nominations and shortlist candidates based on APARs and service record.

Responsibilities
- Enter and update data accurately into government databases and computer systems
- Maintain records, files, and documents as per NIA procedures

- Manage physical and digital filing systems in a secure and organized manner
- Follow all security protocols and confidentiality rules required in NIA offices
- Support day-to-day administrative operations of the assigned NIA office
Eligibility Criteria
Minimum Qualification
12th pass (for LDC); O/A Level IT Certificate with analogous post (for DEO). Only serving Central/State Govt, PSU, or Autonomous Body employees eligible.
