Who Can Apply?

For Civil/Track and Rolling Stock Trades:

• Matriculation/SSLC plus ITI in the relevant trade (Fitter, Mechanic, Draughtsman, Surveyor, Electrician, Welder, Machinist/Turner, Plumber, Painter, or MRAC) from an NCVT/SCVT recognised institution, OR
• Matriculation/SSLC plus Course Completed Act Apprenticeship in the relevant trade, OR
• Three-year Diploma in Civil or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent) from a Government-recognised University/Institute.

For Electrical and Signalling & Telecom Trades:

• Matriculation/SSLC plus ITI in Electrician/Electronics/Computer Operator trade, OR Course Completed Act Apprenticeship in the same, OR a Diploma in Electrical/Electronics & Communications/Computer/IT Engineering from a Government-recognised University/Institute.

• Experience: You need a minimum of 2 years' post-qualification experience in Operations & Maintenance departments of Indian Railways, Government-owned/operated Railways, Metro Railways, or RRTS systems, for all posts.
• You must submit a Competency Certificate or Experience Certificate from your employer showing year-wise details of your work.
• Note: Candidates with a higher qualification like BE/BTech but without ITI/Diploma are not eligible for the Technician post. Experience gained through Teaching, Faculty, Apprenticeship, Internship, or as a Freelancer will not count toward the required experience.

Age Limit

• Maximum age is 35 years. Medical standard required is Bee-One (B-1).
• Eligibility and experience criteria are reckoned as on 30 June 2026.

Salary

• Selected candidates will get a salary in the IDA Pay Scale of Rs. 35,000 to Rs. 1,10,000 per month (NE-2).
• You will also get DA, HRA and other allowances as per NHSRCL rules.

The selection will be done in 3 stages:

NHSRCL Management may include or dispense with any part of this selection methodology as deemed fit, and may also conduct an additional written test or personal interview if the number of applications is very high.

Once you join, your duties will depend on your domain — Civil/Track staff handle inspection, survey, and maintenance of track structures; Electrical staff maintain Traction Power Supply, OHE and SCADA systems; Signalling & Telecom staff maintain interlocking systems, signals, and telecom equipment; and Rolling Stock staff carry out preventive and corrective maintenance on trains. All roles predominantly involve shift duties, including night-shift maintenance and emergency restoration work as per HSR operational requirements.

• Carry out inspection, survey, and maintenance of civil/track, electrical, signalling or rolling stock systems as per your trade
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on assigned HSR systems and equipment
• Handle shift duties including night-shift maintenance and emergency restoration work
• Support senior engineers during maintenance activities and troubleshooting
• Maintain records of maintenance activities, test results, and equipment status
• Follow safety, compliance and quality protocols during all maintenance operations
• Assist in operation and maintenance contract management for your assigned domain
• Attend training sessions to keep your technical skills updated
