About This Job
NFSU is hiring 2 research project personnel at its Bhopal Campus under an ANRF-funded project. National Forensic Sciences University Project Staff Recruitment 2026 - 2 Posts
National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU), Bhopal Campus has released Advertisement No. NFSUB/Recruitment/01/2026 for two temporary project posts. The project is titled Developing a SNP-Based Fingerprint for Human-Livestock-Wildlife Safety and Coexistence in Central India and is funded by ANRF. Selection is through offline interview/skill test for shortlisted candidates, not through a regular written exam.
The engagement is purely temporary and contractual, initially for one year. The Project Associate-I position may be extended up to 3 years, and the Project Assistant/Field Assistant position may be extended up to 2.5 years, depending on performance and project need. Fieldwork will mainly happen in adjoining forest landscapes of Madhya Pradesh.

The project work combines field sampling, wildlife monitoring, laboratory processing and genomic data handling. This means both posts need candidates who can work carefully with biological samples, records and field teams. NFSU also says selected candidates may be posted at any project location or study site as per project requirements, so you should be ready for field-linked work in Madhya Pradesh.
Who Can Apply?
For Project Associate-I
- Qualification: You need a Master's degree in Natural Sciences, Zoology, Wildlife Science, Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Biological Sciences or a relevant degree with minimum 60% marks.
- Alternative Qualification: You can also apply with a four-year Bachelor's degree in Natural or Agricultural Sciences relevant to the project position.
- Desirable: Molecular genetics, wildlife forensics, population genetics, conservation genetics, genomics, bioinformatics tools, camera trapping or geospatial modelling experience.
For Project Assistant / Field Assistant
- Qualification: You need a Bachelor's degree in Science from a recognised university.
- Preference: Master's candidates in Life Sciences or Forensic Sciences will be preferred.
- Desirable: Wildlife monitoring, DNA extraction, PCR and amplification, laboratory support, data handling, basic GIS or conservation biology experience.
Age Limit
- Project Associate-I: maximum age is 35 years on the last date of application.
- Project Assistant / Field Assistant: maximum age is 40 years on the last date of application.
- SC/ST/Women: age relaxation of 5 years as per government rules.
- OBC: age relaxation of 3 years as per government rules.
Salary
- Project Associate-I: Rs. 37,000 + HRA per month for candidates selected through NET/GATE or national-level selection processes recognised in the notice.
- Project Associate-I others: Rs. 30,000 + HRA per month for candidates not covered under the NET/GATE/national-level selection condition.
- Project Assistant / Field Assistant: Rs. 27,000 + HRA per month.
- Allowances: HRA is payable as per rules.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)
Selection for NFSU Project Associate-I and Project Assistant/Field Assistant will be done after application screening. Only shortlisted candidates will be allowed to appear before the interview panel, subject to their eligibility.

- Offline Interview / Skill Test: The interview or skill test will be held in offline mode at NFSU Bhopal Campus. Online interview requests will not be accepted.

- Medical Fitness: Appointment is subject to being medically fit and in sound health for the assigned work.

Responsibilities
- Collect and document biological samples for the ANRF wildlife coexistence project
- Assist with DNA extraction, SNP genotyping and related laboratory work
- Support genomic data analysis, project databases and sample records
- Prepare reports, manuscripts and research documentation under project guidance
- Coordinate with forest department officials and collaborating institutions
- Participate in fieldwork in adjoining forest landscapes of Madhya Pradesh
- Follow laboratory, field safety and data handling instructions during project work
