DDK Bhopal ISL Newsreader Presenter Recruitment 2026: Overview

The Regional News Unit (RNU) of Doordarshan Kendra Bhopal, part of Prasar Bharati, is building a panel of Indian Sign Language (ISL) Newsreaders/Presenters on a casual assignee basis. Selected people interpret the regional news bulletin in sign language on screen, so the news reaches deaf and hard-of-hearing viewers.

This is an empanelment, not a regular job: you are called for individual bulletins and paid for each shift. The call is open only to people of Indian origin who live in Bhopal, so out-of-town applicants should skip it.

You need a graduate degree, a diploma or certificate in Sign Language, at least one year of work as a Sign Language Interpreter, good Hindi and a camera-friendly presence. A grip on current regional, national and foreign affairs and some English help your chances.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Not a regular post: Casual empanelment gives you no claim to a permanent job.
• Limited assignments: You can get at most 7 assignments a month, so treat this as part-time work.
• Panel age cap: No one stays on the panel beyond the age of 60.
• Tests can take many forms: RNU DDK Bhopal may hold a written test, interview, computer-based test, video-call test, audition or screen test to judge your skills and on-camera personality.
• No travel costs: No TA/DA is paid for attending the tests or interview.
• Strict paperwork: Applications without proper enclosures are rejected outright, and any canvassing also leads to rejection.
• Process can be cancelled: The Director General, DD News, can cancel the empanelment at any time without notice.

Application Submission Notes

Fill the Annexure-A application form attached to the notice, paste a recent passport-size photo and attach copies of your certificates. Hand it in personally or send it by speed post to Director News, Regional News Unit, Doordarshan Kendra, Shyamala Hills, Bhopal-462002.

Put the form in a sealed cover marked "Application for the Post of Casual Assignment basis" followed by the post name. Hand delivery is accepted on working days from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, and your application must arrive within one month of the notice going up on the website.
