National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU), an Institution of National Importance under the Ministry of Home Affairs, has released Advertisement No. NFSUV/Recruitment/01/2026 for contractual posts at NFSU Varanasi Campus. The notification covers 5 Assistant Professor posts in forensic science subjects and 2 non-teaching posts in accounts and administration. Selection is interview-based, with a screening or skill test possible for non-teaching posts if applications are high.

Who Can Apply?

Assistant Professor Posts

• Main qualification: You need a Ph.D. in the relevant discipline with minimum first class or 60% or equivalent at the preceding Master's degree.
• Academic record: The notice asks for a very good academic record throughout.
• Lower-salary route: If suitable Ph.D. candidates are not available, NFSU may consider candidates with a relevant Master's degree and CSIR/UGC-NET Assistant Professor qualification at Rs. 75,000 per month.
• Another fallback route: If NET is not conducted in that subject, candidates with a relevant Master's degree, minimum first class or 60%, and a strong academic record may be considered at Rs. 68,000 per month.

Accountant cum Auditor

• Qualification: You need a bachelor's degree in Commerce, Finance or Accounting from a reputed institution with a good academic record.
• Skills: You need knowledge and proficiency in MS Office and Tally Prime.
• Experience: You need 3 years post-qualification experience in financial management, payroll and accounting practice in a reputed government or private organisation.
• Preferred: M.Com, CA, ICWA or MBA Finance is desirable.

Deputy Section Officer

• Qualification: You need graduation in any subject from a reputed institution with a good academic record.
• Experience: You need at least 3 years experience as an Administrative Assistant or equivalent post in an educational institute or government office.
• Skills: Excellent communication skills in Hindi and English are essential, along with MS Office, Tally Prime and computer applications.
• Preferred: Post-graduation in any subject is desirable.

Age Limit

• Assistant Professor: Maximum age is 45 years.
• Accountant cum Auditor: Maximum age is 40 years.
• Deputy Section Officer: Maximum age is 40 years.
• Age reference: Qualifications and experience are counted as on the last date of application submission, which is 22 June 2026.
• Relaxation: The University may relax qualifications, experience or age criteria at its discretion as stated in the notice.

Salary

• Assistant Professor: Rs. 90,000 per month consolidated for Ph.D. candidates meeting the listed criteria.
• Assistant Professor alternate route: Rs. 75,000 per month for relevant Master's degree plus CSIR/UGC-NET Assistant Professor route, if used.
• Assistant Professor second alternate route: Rs. 68,000 per month for relevant Master's degree route where NET is not conducted, if used.
• Accountant cum Auditor: Rs. 40,000 per month consolidated.
• Deputy Section Officer: Rs. 35,000 per month consolidated.
• Separate DA, HRA or TA is not mentioned because these are contractual consolidated salaries.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

NFSU will select candidates mainly through offline interview. For non-teaching posts, the University may hold a screening or skill test before interview if many applications are received.

1. Online Application Scrutiny: NFSU checks the online form, fee transaction details, qualification, experience and documents.
2. Shortlisting: Only shortlisted candidates are called by email.
3. Screening / Skill Test: This may be used for Accountant cum Auditor and Deputy Section Officer if applications are high.
4. Offline Interview: Interviews will be held at NFSU Varanasi Campus; online interview requests will not be accepted.
5. Document Verification: You must bring original documents and one self-attested set at interview.
